First Person Shooters (Games)

Review: Crysis Warhead 154

When Crysis was released last year, it immediately became known for two things; excellent gameplay and ridiculously high hardware requirements. With the recent release of Crysis Warhead, a standalone expansion to the original game, Crytek's plans were to maintain or improve the quality of gameplay while simultaneously streamlining it so a broader audience would have a chance to enjoy it. As it happens, they succeeded. Fans of the original game will feel right at home in Warhead, and it provides a good chance for new players who were curious but wary of Crysis's graphical requirements to give it a shot. Read on for my thoughts.

After 3 Years, Rockbox 3.0 Released 248

DarkkOne writes "Rockbox version 3.0 is out. Three years in development, it marks the introduction of many new players since the 2.5 release and offers software-based playback allowing audio of nearly any commonly (or uncommonly) used format on a list of MP3 players by Apple, iRiver, Cowon, Archos, Toshiba and Sandisk. Beyond this it is FLOSS, under the GPL v2 license (or later), and includes a variety of plugins such as games and simple apps. 3.0 is the first official release for any players not made by Archos and more or less marks the beginning of a much more regular release cycle for the software."
It's funny. Laugh.

Submission + - Mac v. PC Commercials - South Park style

ErikInterlude writes: The Mac v. PC commercials were fun when they first came out, but for me they've gotten a little old now that the novelty has worn off. I actually forgot them until I came across this little presentation posted on Youtube. It's a Mac v. PC commercial in the style of South Park. The voices could use a little work, but I got a chuckle out of it. I figured the Slashdot community would as well.
