Well for a start its probably more than one gene or could even be epigeneticy. But that fact tat 20% survived means they obviously have some kind of natural tolerance and will pass it on to the next generation. Thats all that matters ultimately.

Most languages have cons as well as pros. Python has its meaningful whitespace BS and typeless variables. JS also has typeless variables that have led to god knows how many bugs over the years. Java is slow and bloated, C# is ok but can't do any low level and to do anything serious Windows specific whatever the Mono crowd may say.

Yes C has its faults but its lasted 50 years so must be doing something right because no language has enough inertia to last that long if its total crap.

Most green generating systems can be shut off almost immediately - wind, solar, hydro etc. So why not just ask the producers to stop generating? Thats what we do here in the UK (albeit paying the producers for lost income but thats another discussion)

During covid they told us to stay away from the office and come in on pain of dismissal unless for a very good reason. Fine, so we stayed away. Now you want us back, aww, tough luck, suck it up.

Covid changed a lot of things , not all of them for the better, but for a lot of white collar workers - not all I grant you - working from home a few days a week is a real bonus and helps oil the wheels of their life to make it perhaps a bit easier than it would otherwise be particularly for those of us with kids.
