You could encode your music at 128kbps or less and use less space with the same (or better) audio quality than your >128kbps encodings.
I use OSX and KDE. I MUCH prefer KDE. Sometimes, these things are about what a person likes.
Copying the "Look and Feel" of Se7en is not going to help with third party software development. THAT is the biggest obstacle to Linux adoption. Lack of (specific) applications. Nobody wants to learn the Gimp interface when they can do all of their work in Photoshop.

OS X uses a mach kernel with a BSD userland and a custom Apple GUI on top. (I know it's pedantic. I can't help it.)
I love X2Go. We use it at work to provide a Linux desktop for users who have Windows PCs (and some Macs). It's very fast with low latency.

I think plenty of people would question the "coherent" assertion.

By the market share argument, McDonald's is the superior hamburger restaurant. Market share is often a poor indicator of quality.
That reminds me of an old Microsoft joke:
A helicopter was flying around above Seattle when an electrical malfunction disabled all of the aircraft's electronic navigation and communications qquipment. Due to the clouds and haze, the pilot could not determine the helicopter's position and course to fly to the airport. The pilot saw a tall building, flew toward it, circled, drew a handwritten sign, and held it in the helicopter's window. The pilot's sign said "WHERE AM I?" in large letters. In the newer K/Ubuntu's (last couple of years?) it's even easier. The first boot after installation, there is a pop-up that asks if you want to use proprietary drivers. Two mouse clicks and a short wait later, they're all set up.
