Total mass of ice in the Antarctic continues to decline: http://www.skepticalscience.com/antarctica-gaining-ice.htm Temperature trends since the 90s indicate more gradual warming, not cooling. http://www.sciencealert.com.au/news/20121705-23396.html In the past, ice at the poles has never coexisted with atmospheric CO2 above 400ppm, a threshold that we just crossed. Time will prove you drastically wrong, but some of us are running low on patience for the trolling.

Wish I could mod you up. I did tens of thousands of business with Newegg over a period of 3 years. Now I go more often to Amazon. Newegg tried to be Amazon and failed. Amazon is now better at doing what Newegg used to do than Newegg is today. It is easier to find what you need and the reviews are better.

Do you have Aspergers? High functioning Autism? Seriously, you dissed the connections Facebook facilitates (that were referred to in the parent post) as being "bullshit" in terms of importance. All that matters to you is the technology that Facebook contributes. Technology for what purpose and to what ends? Tools trump human beings and society? I'm sure that the biggest reason people use Facebook is for its connection facilitating function. Most people don't care a great deal about Facebook's technology contributions beyond Facebook itself. Like you, I do, but I never want to lose sight of the bigger picture. Have I misunderstood you somehow?

Comment Not a replacement for hybrid technology (Score 1) 721

I realize submitters often can't resist editorializing, but come on, this isn't a replacement for hybrid technology. Indeed, this engine could be part of a hybrid system just as easily as any other. Yes, early hybrids present a mixed record of success and failure and there are plenty of detractors. Nevertheless, battery technology will improve and cost to manufacture will continue to come down. The technology is still in its infancy and a just battery breakthrough alone changes the picture in a big way. At the very least, hybrid technology is a great bridge to all-electric vehicles and the added range compared to an all-electric will long be of interest.
