Comment hypocracy (Score 3, Interesting) 1448

It seems that there are number of groups on both sides of the isle that plead for equal rights for their believes, opinions and convictions when their cause is under attack, however they are just as eager to deny the rights, prosecute their political opponents whenever opportunity arises.
The hypocrisy present across entire political spectrum, btw. Left, Right, Liberals, Conservatives, Republicans, Democrats, Tea-partiers and Greens, and ironically Anarchists and Libertarians.

Assange and Manning (Wikileaks in general) are financed indirectly by Russia through the third intermediaries.
Lulzsec are just a bunch of crazy hacker kids with nothing to do. Noone finances them.

Here what I think they should do.... Moscow-Havana flight comes north, flies over Iceland, Greenland, then Canada, comes down South across the United States, down the Florida cost and lands in Cuba.
On the way there (when it is confirmed that Snowden is on board...) Make sure they have some sort of mechanical failure and forced to land....

Einstein besides being a hero of science, has always been an outspoken critic of Nazi Germany, and contributed to our war effort against the Japanese (you know how...)
Newton, also being a hero of science has openly questioned the teachings of the Church, even though Cambridge University (where Newton was employed) was overseen and financially dependent on the Church... He is a hero because he could have gone the way of Copernicus or at least Galileo Galilei ("Eppur si muove")...

Schmuck. It is because you never lived in Soviet Union or Russia, you are capable of spewing this nonsense.
Post-monarchical Russia has always claimed democracy and rule by the People... That's the point of having People's Congress and the "Soviet" in the "Soviet Union". And the "Democratic" post-USSR Russia has always claimed to have a rule of Democracy. They just have a very sneaky ways of going around it to instill aristocracy (such as having a 3 term "president", police intimidation of the opposition, disqualification of the opposition from the elections, imprisoning the most outspoken critics, etc.)
As a Russian, I would tell you directly -- you don't want to show your face in the streets of Moscow. You would be a prime candidate for "re-education".

The United States Constitution states, in Article III, Section 3: "Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort."
By exposing national secrets that served as a basis of protection, Snowden performed "adherence to the Enemies". He absolutely should be tried for treason for this. He lied on his credentials for clearance and job specifically (as he admitted) to get into the NSA and expose the spying secrets.

I don't recall them ever mentioning either Guy Fawkes or the Gunpowder Plot anywhere in the Federalist Papers or anywhere else.
HOWEVER the wrote the following for sure:
