Comment Rip it and ship it (Score 1) 77

Well my rip it and ship it days are over. Ripping movies for decades. Both me and my friends. And then we copied each others hard drives. I ripped some 10 years ago I never watched yet. Oh well. I have about 60tb of movies now. Since they don't even make good movies anymore, I think I'm set for the rest of my boomer life.

Comment 1998 (Score 1) 288

I was just telling my gaming friends this. I still have my gaming PC that I built in 1998. Of course, I don't use it but I can't being myself to throw away. It has a voodoo 3 3500 AGP TV, and is overclocked. It could run tomb raider like no one's business!

Comment Can't wait to get my preorder (Score 1) 30

This is a total win for me. When I travel in for holidays, it sucks lugging my alienware laptop and all accessories just for some evening gaming while on the road. It would be awesome to have this for some quick pwning of noobs while mobile. The fact that this is a PC is awesome. You could use it like a PC in a pinch, and also change the OS if you want. Run full Windows 10? Go ahead.

I worked at UPS in the early 2000s as a network admin. The guy I worked with and befriended was telling me that earlier that year the loaders went on strike. So they made everyone, even the office employees, software engineers, everyone load the trucks lol. So they did, lol in their dress clothes and everything. Some quit. Everyone was upset that the company treated them like that. My friend said he liked the change of pace lol.

Comment Linus was just as bad (Score 1) 51

Linus has no idea what he's doing either. So many mistakes he made. For example, he gives false information about GPU cables.

He goes "now we can use a single cable for this" doesnt explain why. Yeah perhaps this gpu didnt need more than 150 watts. But he didnt clarfiy. If you plug in a 3080 with the 1 cable with 2 end, you WILL potentially cause a fire.

"some builders are preferring to use 2 separate 8 pin cables". Uh no they arent preferring it like its a cosmetic choice. Why not say WHY and WHEN you DO need it.

If your GPU pulls more than 150w you need 2 or more connections. This was not covered in the video, and therefore bad information. If a GPU needs to pull alot of wattage such as a 3080, then hooking it up with one cable can literally melt the wire, or the PSU will shut off assuming it has good protection. Worst case, is it catches fire.
