If only there were some easy and popular way to distribute music in another format. Something portable, but digital, so the songs could ultimately be copied at high quality from the original format onto hard drives and, ultimately, onto MP3 players. I don't do iPhone development, so this may be off base: but isn't it trivial to drop a "web view" or something like it into an iPhone application? From that point forward, you'd be able to use standards compliant CSS, JavaScript and HTML to your heart's content.
