Early backer from day 1. Was hoping to get mine BEFORE retail to develop on. Guess I should have got the dev edition at $699?! Hrm.

And I haven't received mine yet.
I'm betting part of the delay is to ensure that all early backers get theirs BEFORE it hits retail. That was promised from very early on.
I did this last year:

The older kids loved it and made it to the door to get their candy. But the young ones were scared s%^&less. I just thought it was fun. Didn't even think it would be scary to kids!
I'd like my cell phone to act like a thin client.
Just pop it into charging dock and it gives you browser and email on big screen(s) and rdp client to access applications on server for those things your phone isn't powerful enough itself.
The dock could even have external GPU for extra power.
Motorola tried this. It was slow, ugly, useless and slow. It was just discontinued by Google (who own's Moto's Mobile biz now).

I assume you didn't buy one?!
The really, really, really sad thing is that you already see people doing this while they're on a normal cell phone.
LOL, for some of us, the hand moving is part of talking.
I work from home, and on conference calls, I pace around and gesture as I'm speaking -- I simply couldn't not do it.
Though, admittedly, I don't preclude the possibility that I'm also crazy.
Hahahaha
P.S. @localman57: The worst I've seen while driving, dude next to me was making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich while on the highway going 120km/h!! I mean, full on jars of PB and J, knifing it out and spreading it on bread! I really wish I had a video of it. At least I had a passenger as a witness.
Like people who do the bluetooth headset thing while walking down the street don't look like tools as it is. Let's just throw in hand gestures for good measure! Yay society!
P.S. How on earth are we going to separate the crazies from people who are just on the phone now?!!
Pirate? That key is given right on the download page:

Perhaps I'm missing the joke? He is a 3 digit
Yes, I never though I'd say this, but some people still like to use regular frames, and the consume no energy whatsoever!
Oh, I love frames too. But there's only so many you can put on a wall before it starts to look weird
We're trying to get photo books printed to document our kids' childhood. So the plan is to do a photo book for each year of their lives up to the age of 10 or so. And then maybe a book for the ages of 10-15, etc etc.
It would make for a very easy handoff when they grow up and have their own family and we want to get rid of everything cuz we're downsizing!
Of course the AC didn't read the whole post. Sigh. I am getting old I guess.
I specifically wrote
Be off AC, troll somewhere else.
... when you can make photo albums?! I find that we print photo albums instead of photos these days. Photos themselves are a nuisance to store or archive. Printed photo albums are nicely self-contained, easy to pack and look much better than those albums with a bunch of loose photos in it. It's really not much more expensive. I personally just use iPhoto to design and then print the albums. No hassle. Product is fantastic.
Of course there are many outlets to get these printed. I highly recommend them.
As a side bonus, your guests will think you're some kind of pro, cuz honestly, even with no experience, they come out looking really really good. Nothing says pro like a full page bleed
Then again, what do I know? I'm just an old fart with a 4 digit ID.
I love the Raspberry Pi project, and have my CC ready to order. However, this isn't that spectacular of a use for it
There are a ton of specialized boxes that already do it in a neat package with a proper remote. (personally I use a WD TV Live both 1st and 2nd gen).
To all those criticizing the performance, or codec support etc etc, remember this is just ONE of the many things this thing can do and it's just to show you the potential of what a $25/$35 general computing device can be made to do. The coolness of the platform is yet to come. I for one am more excited about the projects that people have not thought of yet, because they haven't gotten their hands on one yet! So much potential. So much fun to be had.
...the fact that the CRTC is antiquated and can't keep up with these emerging technologies as factors...
Doesn't that say it all?? Here's my solution: disband the CRTC and use the money to fund local bands/artists. Maybe setup a new "record label" that is a little more in-tune with society of today, not of yesteryear. There's a lot of things we could do with the money! (Our money mind you!)
They're comparing something that's coming out soon (TM) vs something I've had for over 8 months! I sure hope it beats the ipad2 in benchmarks. All these numbers games are silly. It used to matter when I was building 486 DX50 desktops vs a 486 DX2-66
Wow, I guess I've become an old man! Complaining about you kids are your silly games. My apologies. </rant>
... where I want a name-brand reputable company backing it--and an OS that I know is and will be supported.
What, like HP?
HAHAHAHAHA. Best. Video. EVAR. (and I'm an iPhone user)
