Okay, done adding the prologue and epilogue, making it 60 solid pages. I;m gonna noodle on something else before tackling the revision.

First draft finished, still a little short, being 57 pages, instead of my target of 65-70. I still need to add a prologue and an epilogue, so that'll help. I much to revise and recheck, plus re-revise Time of War since I lost the revision somewhere along the way; no big deal, I know what to change.

After slogging through several boring pages, Sylvia is about to meet the local Warlord.

Sylvia has been ambushed by Whisper and the resulting conflict has cast her out of the Corridor and now is a prisoner of the Wu Jen.

Maybe not. Slept on it and decided I hadn't decided.

Sylvia has reached the Library of the Purple dragon. I decided to go with The Crystal Dragon idea. She'll get some of the info that Abe would have gotten and will return a changed woman.

I am happy to report that work is well underway on the new Abe story, centering on Sylvia and the mystery of the rosewood crossbow bolts. The tentative title is "A Time of Danger" but I'm not sure I will keep it. Right now I am focused on getting Sylvia into the Library of the Purple Dragon where it'll be across the ocean to the Ivory Tower (which would make a nice chunk of writing) or the Crystal Dragon, which wouldn't be but would let me hook Abe into the Crystal Dragon. I am leaning toward the Ivory Tower, there is plenty of time to get to the Crystal Dragon.

I am thinking of a new Abe story, a beefy one to come after What Lay Hidden In Shadows (The Tom Parts). Probably centering on Sylvia and her quest for information about the rosewood crossbow bolts. I had an idea before but I dunno...I could have her kidnapped by the black circle or by some rebel noble in Baffon's Keep...I dunno, none of them really floats my boat or advances the plot...hmmm gotta think here...where did the Black Circle get their rosewood? Not Sorshem....and how would Sylvia find out...book gnomes would know what it is and point her to the Ivory Tower who would know how to reverse the magic...okay we'll start there and think about this again when she gets ready to leave for the Ivory Tower. (maybe the Ivory Tower will make her do something to earn the knowledge, like be an apprentice...hmmm the possibilities are endless).

I am writing...albiet in fits in starts. Finished a very short Abe story--the Tom parts from The Purple Dragon. I tried and tried to expand it but I couldn't seem to do it to my satisifaction so it'll be the short opening to book two.
That done I revised part of the Sword of Sorrow and after a year and a half, I am ready to move forward on part two. So Abe and Sorrow are the current works in progress.

Back in the groove after a long time down. Working really crimps one writing time. Thanks to a tip from Ryk Spoor, I have the Black Sword rocking and rolling. One last revision then its onward.
