So they steal millions and give 10,000 to charity so they can say "Look at us, we are standing on such moral high ground" You know the Mafia used to donate large sums of money to churches in their community to buy goodwill. Apparently that washes away all of your transgressions and crimes.

The sad thing is this will probably endear them to some people.

Playing online instead of live in person and we are supposed to be surprised players are consulting chess computers in realtime to determine their moves? How is this news? Why would anyone NOT expect this to be happening? Who would even try to play in tournaments for money online? That is the dumbest thing ever. Of course everyone will be cheating.

Why is it wrong to do good but also get credit for it? Must all altruism be anonymous and without credit given?

Yes. Because if it really were in the name of altruism it would be anonymous since the exact same amount of good is done. By definition, shouting for credit means you also want credit which means it is not purely altruism; you are also doing it for publicity.

Not necessarily. In that case you are dealing with individual landlords since the stores are standalone and often not owned by the corporation. Also, it has been so long since KMart went under (for the most part) their locations have been repurposed. All of the ones I can think of around here were converted years ago.

The idea of Amazon is to negotiate with one entity (Simon) and gain access to a large number of sites all in one fell swoop.

You do realize that almost every one of these devices is covered under health insurance? Also, by definition the people who need it have been classified as having a disability and so a world of government programs also cover them quite often. Lastly, they are more expensive than you might think because they have been classified as lifesaving medical devices and therefore need large liability insurance. If the smoke detector goes off and the alert mechanism fails there is hell to pay. That is a world of difference compared to missing a doorbell or a landline phone call.

"They came to change the world," she said, "and stayed to work within the system on issues they cared about."

Stop it! You are killing me with your jokes.

They stayed because they whored themselves out to the almighty dollar but they are so full of themselves that they are trying to convince everyone else they are different. Maybe they believe it themselves or not. I have known quite a few people in my time that are so delusional they actually seem to believe it in their heart but we all know otherwise. Pathetic.

The two men had been in discussions about selling their company to Take-Two but were dissatisfied with the terms, they explained.

Berry and Mavor encouraged employees to stick together and stay at the company.

So, stick with us even though we have been trying to sell the company out from under you so we can make our millions. Never mind that you would end up with a new employer, we got ours! Don't abandon us to go to the same company we were pawning you off to yet, we haven't cashed in. Loyalty. Loyalty. Loyalty!!!!!!!

Holy hell. The nerve of some people.
