Suburbs absolutely can and more often do have parks and/or central hubs. As for Europe, there are definitely suburbs in Belgium, Spain, Netherlands, Uk, Poland, and Italy. Maybe not as many as in the US and Canada, and they might not sprawl as much, but they are definitely there if you look for them.

Explora probably qualifies for a successful experience economy business. Theyâ(TM)re based in Chile and offer turn key travel experiences in South America (either at one of their 4 hotels, or on point to point âoetraviesiaâ experiences (for example travel across the Atacama salt plains to the rain forest, or cross country from Chilean Patagonia to Argentinian Patagonia.

You need to get to the airport (or somewhere in the region) they pick you up and handle everything from there, travel, lodging, gourmet dining, out door exploration with experienced guides that know the area intimately. With a crazy amount of flexibility on what you do each day that you plan the night before.

Truly an amazing experience.

Comment The desktop itself is dead (Score 1, Insightful) 108

There will never be a "year of the desktop", because the desktop is dead. The reality is that such a large percentage of the population use mobile devices for the majority of their interactions that whatever happens on the desktop is irrelevant. I find it bizarre because the mobile experience is so abysmal compared to a proper desktop. But I've never understood the mainstream, and I guess this is just another example of that.

In general I agree. And the bill is not saying subscriptions for things that actually make sense and require a service to produce are banned.

So if they want to offer and you want to accept or decline a subscription for updated maps, or onstar, or internet service. Sure go ahead and consumer decide if it is of value to you.

But what I believe the intent (who knows if the actual verbiage will align) is to prevent them from charging a subscription service to enable the heated seats you have installed, or to use the gps and map software that was installed with the car and the package you originally paid for, or the ability to unlock the door remotely with you key fob etcâ¦.
