The funny thing about the donor egg market is that people ought to be looking at _your_ mom as an additional fitness indicator: IIRC, all of your immature egg cells were present when you were in-utero.
What do you mean? The eggs form while still in utero, but they come from the babies cells which contain both maternal & paternal genes.
Yeah, that trade agreement hurt. As I'm sure the parent poster knows, but for others: Prime minister (at the time) Howard had to get us a trade deal with the US basically to show the Australian voting public that the whole joining America on Iraq was worth it as it was an unpopular move.
The trade talks were going badly and at the last minute Howard made the executive decision to give in to a lot of US demands and take the hit. Showing the public that we had a US trade agreement seemed more important than showing the public that we had a GOOD agreement. Ahh politics.
I'm pretty sure even with an early parole this news story will be long forgotten by the time he gets out (though his criminal record wont be).
Here in Australia we get charged 110 Oz for a tier one game, which works out to be 100 US with current exchange rates.
Relative CD, DVD and game prices were set when the Oz dollar was worth about 60 US cents which was a decade ago and margins haven't been adjusted since.
You are neglecting discount rate, but if you want to do this why bother to pump it out & store it? Why not just buy an oil patch & leave it underground?
I'll tell you my theory why people don't often try to write viruses for OSX (writing viruses for money and OSX is more secure aside).
You probably will need to be running OSX to write an effective virus for OSX and obviously have quite a bit of skill with it. If that's the case then you're probably a member of the mac community, and they don't wish harm on each other.
It sounds lame I know, but fanboys stick together and OSX community is a close one.
But then there's that eco-system thing. Having a few resurrected species in a zoo doesn't really help nature produce an equilibrium beneficial to us.
Java Certification only proves you know how to answer trick questions. It's primarily just shows lines with several operators in it and you have to know which ones take priority.
The correct answer to most of the questions should be "This code is so horrible I would rewrite it to be clearer".
When hiring, I've found Java Certified people to be worse than the norm, in no way does it actually test your ability to program.
After holding a position (for instance belief in a scientific theory) for a long time - people become invested in it. If it has become profitable or they have achieved a position of power from it, they have a very strong interest in maintaining the status quo.
It is said that scientists don't change their mind, a new theory comes out and eventually all of the old fogies holding onto the outdated theories retire or die, and are replaced with people who follow the new theories.
If people live for a very long time, maintaining their position and influence - it is likely that society, science and art will stagnate. You only have to listen to baby boomer music critics/radio station DJs who say the best songs are from the 1960s to know this is true.
Cultural evolution will stop or slow, and due to having a finite world birth control must be instituted to allow so many people living so long. Thus biological evolution which depends on reproduction and death will also end.
I accept my death, and will move aside for those following me to have their go. I accept that I am not the pinnacle of existence and will pass on what I know, prepare the next generation and then stand back and see if they can do better.
So my question is - why should we want to hog the ride?
Fast, cheap, good: pick two.
