Possibly because Gareth Evans is 26 years his senior and been out of politics longer than Dutton's been elected. Evans was well establish in politics before Dutton was born. They are of different generations and by all measures Gareth Evans career and accomplishments and reputation as a statesman, dwarfs Dutton.

Dutton's is easily characterised as cold, cruel and heartless, making regular despairing comments about asylum seekers and is why is widely despised outside his QLD electorate. Of late he's been stirring up problems with our largest trading partner China, trying to raise his profile, at the expense of exports.

Dutton as a politician might be appear nice in person, but I've yet to meet one that isn't. They all want your support.

In 1994, three Murri boys, aged 12, 13, and 14, were ordered into paddy wagons by six of Dutton’s police colleagues in Fortitude Valley. Each boy was driven in a separate patrol car to a swampy area in Queensland’s bayside. The officers threatened to throw the boys into the swampy wasteland, and threatened to cut their fingers off. before being abandoned after their shoes were taken from them. The boys later retrieved their shoes and began to walk home. They finished the journey in a taxi paid for by a security guard they met along the way.

Dutton has never clarified if he was a member of the ‘Pinkenba Six’ – but appears to have remained close with the officers, one of who (Mark Ellis, Pictured) ran a failed campaign as a One Nation candidate in the recent QLD state election.

While you wont see it in the Murdoch dominated media or even the whipped public broadcaster (ABC), Tony Abbott who was never a popular politician, benefited from Murdoch's unprecedented support. Murdoch papers shamelessly supported the the Abbott LNP government, and relentlessly attacked the ALP, who introduce the full fibre NBN. The LNP narrowly won government, despite obvious failings and lack of policy platform. In return Abbott killed off the 1st significant threat to the Foxtel (cable/sat tv) monopoly in 15 years. However it was plain to see in the News Corp SEC filings, which warned of “risk factors” to its businesses, including its newspapers and Foxtel pay TV.

“Due to innovations in content distribution platforms, consumers are now more readily able to watch internet-delivered content on television sets and mobile devices, in some cases also without charge,”

The innovations “could reduce consumer demand for our television programming and PAY-TV services and adversely affect both our subscription revenue and advertisers’ willingness to purchase television advertising from us”.

The LNP still continues to benefit from the Murdoch media today and Foxtel having been afforded breathing space has ben able to see off rivals, ironically pivoting to leverage the NBN.

Murdoch has now set his sights on Google and Facebook, pushing legislation through the Australian Parliament to force the platforms to pay News organisation for content and expose their ranking algorithms.

Companies require certainty that if they ask for their data be deleted, it's actually deleted. Last thing you want is some former employee resurrecting an account with all it data.

It's not that different to secure document destruction services.

To get the point of deleting the account requires, cancelling the subscription and then closing the account. The latter is a two step process with a big red warning stating this is irreversible. Irony is the company is a UX/UI company.

Ultimately the cost of privatisation. This battery is well overdue and has effectively handicapped existing generators from gaming the market.
