But in general boycott U.S. products/infrastructure. Much like how the U.S. is supposedly avoiding Huawei, other countries will avoid U.S. hosting, and quite possibly technical equipment as alternatives become available (not to mention, working on their own alternatives). It's probably a good push for Linux/BSD/etc adoption too.

The big thing is, there is *NO* going back now. Even if they the NSA et al ceased all the spying and backdoor crap today, nobody would believe them due to the terrible track-record of lies and false promises.

Who knows, one might be related to another - or at least come up research results pertinent to another - especially when you start talking about things like cell growth, etc.

I'd always heard rumour that a particularly popular libedo-enhancing product was the result of a side-effect in researching other blood-flow related topics (instant-tan or something like that)?

I shaved my head down once, and it looked *terrible*, especially compared to when I just kept my hair long. Not everyone has a nice clean shiny skull to show off. Some of us have scars, discolorations/birthmarks, that can be nicely covered up with a full (or even partial) head of hair. Add to that various things that are more likely to show up with a shaved head and too much sun (such as said discolorations, or even melanoma) and there are plenty of reasons to keep ones hair beyond simple vanity.

The US Gov't would like to think this, but in truth it will cause damage, just not immediately.
As more and more U.S. invasiveness in media and communications is seen, countries and non-domestic corps are slowly moving away from related U.S. products. Over time, this will cost money to the U.S. economy.

I used to agree, but I've seen some decent sales recently from Origin stuff. BF3 had some steep discounts recently including being on a Humble Bundle. I've also seen sales on places like GamersGate etc but it's a bit irritating when you're getting bombared with e-sales newsletters from 3-4 different companies that are actually just selling discounted Steam/Origin keys.

Steam itself seems much better at providing regular sales, but the big thing is they have a much larger catalogue. I (and most people I know) only bother to fire up Origin when I'm playing an Origin game - generally at LAN parties - so it's easy to miss their short-lived sales. Steam has an advantage where more games=more logins=more eyeballs on the store.

I wrote my own in Python; uses PostgreSQL to hold the data, gives me unlimited stylesheet and substitution capabilities, generates HTML or whatever I want directly. Table of contents, indexes in various formats, footnotes, endnotes (references), chaptering and sub-sectioning, local and global variables, image handling and conversions, etc. Works a charm. And since I wrote it, I can add to it, fix it, etc.

Here's an example of an output document:

When I want to typeset something crazy, I do it in an image manipulation system and then shovel the image in; that's about the only thing I've run into that would require more work than I'm willing to put in.
