Attempt To "Digitalize" Beatles Goes Sour 434

An anonymous reader points to this article at exclaim.ca, which begins "Just when Beatles fans thought the band were finally going digital, the Norwegian national broadcaster has been forced to call off the deal. Broadcasting company NRK has had to remove a series of 212 podcasts, each of which featured a different Beatles song and would have effectively allowed fans to legally download the entire Fab Four catalogue for free."

Does anyone else miss the old pressure-based trackpads? I had one of the original Toughbooks and it had one of these, I could use it with a stylus. Made my Photoshop work so much easier without having to buy (and then travel with and try to use in space-restrained situations) a separate drawing tablet. You'd think Apple, trying to sell to the artistic crowd, would offer this as an option.

canyon289 asks: "My friends and I created a full length movie using a regular Sony Camcorder. After importing and editing all of the video and audio in Adobe Premiere, the exported AVI comes out to 19 gigs. The length of the movie is 90 minutes. We tried compressing it with Nero Burning Rom to a 4.7 single layer DVD but when played in a standard DVD player theres pixelation and frame skips aplenty. Does anyone know how to fit the movie into a DVD (preferably 4.7) and still maintain adequate quality?"

Journal Journal: Sometimes moderation bites the big one

Usually slashdot's moderation system is kind to me. Probably because the majority of my posts are either informative or funny. It says "excellent," but simple math tells me that my karma would be at 50 if they still had the number system in place.

Anyway, today I posted a comment which I thought to me quite humorous. You can read it here. It got one funny mod, and several troll and flamebait.
