So much stereotyping . . . You're hurting my brain. My spouse, several of my family members and I are counterpoints to your broad brush. Well educated, fiscal conservatives who "deal in facts" every day. We're not alone or even a small minority of the conservative population as a whole. You're letting media propagated images color your perception of the group as a whole. The religious right does not equate to the majority of conservatives or even Republicans. Please stop propagating that image and get your own facts straight.

I'm not sure about how you were raised. But, I was taught to be kind, respectful and accommodating to women far above and beyond the courtesies you would extend to a man. This mode of operation when interacting with females means they get their side of an issue weighted more heavily than the man on the other side. It's not always fair, but it should be taken into account when trying to understand the situation. And, in my opinion, that is why the distinction was mentioned.

I guess I'm lucky. They don't do that here and any manager who does would be out on their keyster in short order. We have project plans, documented requirements and a change control process as well as using an issue tracking system that is viewable by all and reported on to management. The tools facilitate good development practices and the opportunity for shining or failing in a very visible manner which drives more people to shine.

The horror stories I read about remind me that I am blessed.
