I see that mistake so often. It should be "star system" because only our star system is called "Solar system" because our star is called Sol.
First off, a fuel cell vehicle IS IN FACT an electric car.. just instead of a big battery it uses a fuel cell. So, the Tesla is a very valid comparison being it is the same price and still an electric car.
So for $70,000 why would I want to buy this car versus a Tesla Model S? Or two Chevy Volts?
Well, I hope you do have fun at the gas station. I drive electric, so I never go there, period.
Right now they have virtually zero real competition. On the other side, many people are still afraid of electric cars for one reason or another. And by helping the market expand, it will help their own brand succeed too.
And I have no problem with these smart guns for anyone who wants to buy one. In fact, I could see advantages for these guns under certain circumstances if I was in situations where there was a risk my gun would be taken away from me in a struggle. However, personally I would not want one of these. The main reason being that it is another point of possible failure or breakdown that could keep my gun from firing in the event I need to use it. When people need to use a gun in self-defense they usually have less than a second to make that decision and pull the trigger. THere is no time to be fiddling with some gizmo or something that might prevent the gun from firing.
While it is true, if you keep the car long enough you'll eventually need a new battery. The battery warranty is for 8 years, or 10 years in some states. Nissan hasn't released a price for a replacement pack. Most experts believe the battery costs around $5,000 currently. But it will probably be half that price by the time you need to replace it. On the flip side, the electric car requires almost no regular maintenance like your CR-V does. And when you do replace the battery, the car should be good to go for another 10 years because the rest of the car should last much longer than a gasoline car.
As somebody who studies language - I agree. You can't make analogies in the first place without a functional language. And if you have a functional language, why make up analogies? And seriously, how can the communicate complex ideas? Can you imagine them trying to write a book explaining microprocessor design?
period.
You know just 1% of our military budget diverted to NASA could do amazing things.. imagine if we diverted half of that budget!
I hear people constantly get those two words mixed up. Obviously they sound similar, but have quite different meanings. I'd be surprised if that many people really believed astrology was a science.
I too do not understand why the PC Jr did not sell better. It had graphics and sound that were way better than everything else in the PC-compatible industry at the time and the Tandy 1000 carried on the video and sound systems for several years and were still better. I've recently been playing with DOSBox and set the system type to "tandy" and have played some of my old favorite games and I've been pleasantly surprised how good they look and sound compared to a similar system of the time with CGA or even EGA.
So what if your gun is undetectable. Bullets are still made of metal and will show up on Xray and metal detectors. But even these 3D printed guns have small bits of metal in them for the firing pin.
I mean particle physics is cool, but it doesn't do anything for the human spirit of exploration like a mission to Mars would.
I tell them to turn to the study of mathematics, for it is only there that they might escape the lusts of the flesh. -- Thomas Mann, "The Magic Mountain"
