I used these instructions and it reduced (but did not eliminate entirely) the popups.

I set up a simple batch script on my parents computer which would copy photos from the photo stream into a folder, which itself was monitored by their photo album software. It basically meant that any time they took a photo on their iPhone, it would be available to view on their Windows computer the next time they turned it on.

I'm now going to have to experiment with a couple of python scripts I've found on GitHub which claim to be able to do a similar thing.

Yeah, for some reason the iPad is excluded. Even the cellular iPad.

If you want an Android device for gaming, your best bet is to buy one of the SBC devices coming out of China - such as the Retroid Pocket 3+ or Anbernic RG405M. They'll happily play all Android games as well as emulate any retro console up to and including PSP and Dreamcast (often with 2x or 3x integer scaling).

Yes, a Steam Deck is a lot more powerful, can emulate almost anything and can play more modern games - but these devices are half the price and half the size of a Steam Deck.

This type of chain tries to cheaply mimick the experience. They stick their hand up their worker's asses and make them squeal your name. It's degrading for all involved. Back when Facebook was a thing, my buddy used to enter the wrong birthday. Some people who barely knew him, would congratulate him.

Currently I'm using a 43" 4K monitor, and although I love it, there's one thing where the huge size isn't useful: terminals. They're basically the one thing where extreme vertical space isn't that useful. The most important output is almost always at the bottom, because that's where the prompt is.

For other stuff, browsers, IDE, mail, chat clients etc, it's incredible.

Doesn't Tile need lots of people having the app installed on their phone? Or do they now rely on Apple's AirTags technology? If the former, I can assume it's basically worthless in large swaths of the world (Europe, for example).

Am I crazy? I don't see any way to build the source code. There's no .xcodeproj folder with associated files.

In every iOS project, at the root, there's the .xcodeproj folder and inside there's the project.pbxproj. Which basically is the Makefile of Swift code. It's not there.

This code is just a dump to peruse. Not to actually build the app.

I loved the books when I was young. They seem omnipotent but they really weren't.

IIRC, Corwin tried to usurp the throne from his brother Random, and as a punishment had his eyes burned out. Nobody expected he'd regenerate his eyesight, but it did, during years of imprisonment.

Also, what I liked is that they'd all have their own particular skill. Although Corwin handled a sword really well, he could never win against his brother Gérard. He could cast a spell but never as good as his sister Fiona.

There's multiple interesting threads going on. Their power comes from the Pattern (i.e. order), but there's also the Locus (i.e. chaos). There's a court of Amber, but also a court of Chaos. Then there's a whole bunch of family members, who Corwin knows or doesn't know.

However, I don't blame you for finding it a bit boring. We all have particular books and TV series which didn't "click" with us. I mean I found Lord of the Rings entertaining overall, but the writing style extremely long-winded.

Really? What I found out, is that there are different levels of pinlock. Sales people don't tell you that, perhaps even they don't know. There's 30, 70 and 120. I unknowingly bought a 70 for some reason. Perhaps you have a 30?
