I don't know about sending you back a USB flash drive but Floppydisk.com offers a service to transfer the contents of floppy disks to CD (see here). Unfortunately the procedure is expensive, prohibitively so in my opinion ($55 USD for the recovery of 10 floppy disks). Luckily there is a more affordable alternative. The FC5025 is a device that adapts a standard 5.25" floppy disk drive mechanism to USB and comes with software for Windows XP, Mac OS X and Linux. It costs $55.25 USD. Given that you already have a 5.25" mechanism, which aren't easy to find these days, the FC5025 is an affordable solution to your problem.

My primary Amiga (a 1000) does not have a hard disk so floppies are necessary for everything, even to boot Kickstart. I could use a more capable Amiga but my usage is entirely a nostalgic pursuit so I eschew convenience for authenticity. As for WHDLoad, it's a fantastic program but there are some limitations. It's impractical to use WHDLoad on an unaccelerated Amiga without RAM expansion and mass storage which immediately disqualifies the majority of Amigas (my 1000 included) and there are no 'slaves' (WHDLoad's term for game install bundles) for the majority of Amiga games.

I'm a classic computer enthusiast and I purchase 3.5" disks for use with my various Amiga computers. I know many others who do the same although it seems unlikely that our purchases add up to millions. Honestly, I wasn't sure what all the fuss regarding Sony's discontinuation of the 3.5" floppy was about because there are other manufacturers. One of the larger ones is ATHANA International, Inc. who still make and sell 3.5", 5.25" and even 8" floppy disks.

I agree. I actually held off on buying a backpack recently because the "add to cart" price seemed *too* good. Turns out the manufacturer had started enforcing the Minimum Advertised Price forcing smaller webshops to hide the price, this was also the reason that eBags.com had suddenly increased their price beyond the MSRP. This way eBags perpetual 20% off coupons don't run afoul of the MAP.

I wholeheartedly agree that current immigration policy punishes the people that take the time, spend the money and have the ethics to immigrate legally. My wife is a legal immigrant and we absolutely hate it when we hear stories about amnesty, or in-state tuition.

Think about it this way, legal immigrants and have to utilize some of his own resources (time/money) and have some sort of ethics and desire to do it legally. I don't know abut you guys, but being an Citizen of the US, I'd rather have immigrants that display some moral fiber and real desire to be here.

On the other hand, illegals know full well what they are doing is illegal. It is not like they can say "Sorry, I didn't know. I must have immigrated by accident" They by, definition, display no respect for our country or our laws.

On April 23, Yodobashi Camera announced through their online sales site "Yodobashi.Com" and their telephone sales service "Moshi Moshi Yodobashi" that they are discontinuing sales of Apple products. Sales at their retail stores will still continue.

According to Yodobashi Camera, "it has become the case that [they] can no longer sell any Apple products, including iPods, MacBooks, iMacs and related accessories." Furthermore, they say that it was "according to the wishes of Apple."

Customers can continue to use the "store pick-up" service where they order an item online at Yodobashi.Com and pick up the item in person at a store. They can also continue to determine whether a product is in stock through their "in stock inquiry service."

"We have no comments beyond what has been said online" is the statement from Yodobashi Camera.

With regards to online sales of Apple products, many other high volume retailers such as Bic Camera and Yamada Denki have similarly stopped. Bic Camera also stated that they cannot comment on what led to this, but vehemently state that "since you can pick up ordered items at the store, we don't believe it should be that big of an issue."

In addition to high volume retailers, Mac-specific small-time shops "Akihabara Mac Collection" and "kitcut" that were selling Apple products through Rakuten [an online market place in Japan] have also stopped sales. (However, kitcut as of this writing, April 26, still continues selling products on their own site.) Furthermore, upon seeing many Rakuten shops having marked [Apple items] as "out of stock" or "no longer available", one might be able to say that this issue is a life and death situation for online shops who do not have physical storefronts.

With so many retailers stopping online sales of Apple products, Apple's very own "Apple Store" still continues to sell them, unsurprisingly. Furthermore, the foreign-owned Amazon continues to do so as well.

As of April 26, Apple has not made an official announcement and refuses to comment on the situation.

I see nothing in that article that is a concrete design choice the GW2 team has made to specifically address the "problems" of current MMOs. They simply provide out-of-context examples of potentially cool scenarios. Wouldn't it be cool if we fired through walls of fire!!!! Yes it would, the first 15 times.

MMO design needs to take a radical step away from "MMO combat mechanics" into other directions (some people suggested more social aspects which I do not like) in order to be innovative. These mechanics were spawned by old school D&D mechanics by way of MUDs, and honestly, these ideas are OLD. Not all are bad, either. Until they do innovate though, no amount of marketing by game studios will convince me to subscribe to their new games. Neither will it convince all the people currently playing WoW to switch to something else.

There is a reason millions are playing that game. It provides cheap entertainment value for them, through a myriad of activities that, although repetitive, are greatly enhanced through the social aspect that is provided by online connectivity to a context of a world. Combat is boring, UNLESS you have to orchestrate with 25 people. Crafting is boring UNLESS you can sell your wares to a market economy. And so on.

As soon as a game is created to provide the same or greater entertainment value to people, they will jump. It just has to be innovative enough to make them jump. And yeah, open world group quests already failed, with WAR. That game could have been a radical attempt to reforge the MMO landscape, but the designers instead opted to play it safe and re-create WoW. Who will be next? From what I have read it doesn't seem like GW2 is ready to take up that cup.

Unless there's another definition I'm not aware of, how can you have pre-alpha code?
