Does this mean the next release of The Matrix on whatever 4k/8k media will have the credits list The Wachowski Sisters instead of Brothers?

I'm a pretty liberal dude, but the fervor of pronoun discussions these past few years grates on me in a way I can't quite put my finger on.

Where's my Chrome plugin to replace any instances of he/she to "ze" (or "it") already!

Now there's a name I haven't heard of in a long time.

My first ever Unix account was on a Sequent Symmetry in 1990 for CS101 (RIP sage.cc.purdue.edu). The OS was Dynix, and I think the machine had six i386 cores.

Ah, those were the days, before shadowed passwords and TTYs with proper permissions. All via 9600-baud serial connections in the dorms. Fun stuff.

I've owned a classic Big Berkey for about 10 years. The filters, while expensive, are the best of their class (gravity fed). You can see, taste, and smell the difference.

I don't know how impartial waterfilterlabs.com is, nor how rigid their testing methodology is, but the top of the line Berkey filters (the black plus the fluoride filters underneath) rank the highest on nearly every category. The systems were designed to filter questionable water in shitty, war-torn, 3rd-world environments, so they knock out pathogens, volatiles, and heavy metals.

Just because quacks may recommend a product doesn't necessarily mean it's snake oil.

One of those dating sites published some stats a while back. The data was interesting.

The take-away from the stats was that men tend to find average women attractive, whereas women only find above-average men attractive.

So, where a dude who's a five is fine with a woman who's a 5, the woman who's a 5 is only responding to the 8's in the pool.

80% of women are chasing the top 10% of men. And because even homely-looking ladies get carpet bombed by responses from dudes just hoping to get a nibble for a cast, they have inflated ideas of what their league actually is.

Don't forget the dramatic montage sickness that infects otherwise decent shows. I'm convinced many montages with pop music are more about tossing fresh musical talent onto the wall to see what sticks more than anything.

Then you've got the signature Abrams Montage which pointlessly amps up drama in shows like LOST and Fringe or movies like his Trek reboots.

So he went on record months before to approach the airline. Next, he tweets blatantly scary "what if" kinda things FROM A PLANE. Snoops snag the message, then snag him, snag his encrypted laptop, ask for keys, to which he says "warrant, or GTFO".

Maybe getting captured was part of his plan? Maybe he's gunning to get legal precedent set on the issue of crypto, passwords, the legal process, and self-incrimination. Bonus points for possibly exposing just how people are monitored online and if the feds can power through common disk crypto.

My guess is he did nothing wrong while on the airline, and even if he is legally compelled (via warrant or legal test case verdict), there will be no evidence of wrongdoing whatsoever.

Maybe the feds will finally show some of their cards?
