There will never be flying cars as a general means of transportation. People can barely keep it between the lines in two dimensions.

"Global warming isn't caused by Americans!", "Global Warming is caused by people in the mid-west.", "Global warming is caused by neighbor"? The last I checked there was a 97% agreement among climate scientists that humans were causing Global Warming. Or is a statistical study of published peer-reviewed papers not a good indicator scientists agree on a given subject? Google 'Quantifying the consensus on anthropogenic global warming in the scientific literature' (now that's a mouthful!)

Page 11:"There are no areas of the country where electric vehicles have higher global warming emissions than the average new gasoline vehicle." Page 37:"Nearly half of Americans live in regions where driving an electric vehicle means lower global warming emissions than driving even the best hybrid gasoline vehicle available."
