This is just not true. You do not have to be lucky or talented. It's easy to accomplish a 3 month buffer if you live within your means and use common sense. Its irresponsible for someone your age to tell people its nearly impossible. And its also completely wrong.

WARNING... personal blah blah follows: I'm 25 and my wife is 29. Salary-wise, my wife and I both have "average" paying jobs. We BOTH work. We don't have kids b/c it does not make financial sense. We got our degrees in only FOUR years because we didn't go to College and play, drink, party, etc. Did we still have fun? You bet! While most all of our friends after graduation have all bought new cars (with nice big car payments), we still drive our "college" cars. We don't have cable. We cook and eat at home. We follow pretty much every other common sense practice you can imagine.
