I for one am not much for anything that doesn't have a keyboard, that's the primary reason I am attracted to a laptop over a tablet. When you're going to spend money you might as well get a banana AND a peel.

...and I'll be skipping that step. I've been looking for a good reason to switch for a while--I just don't want to stay up all night reconfiguring my work machine.

Sounds like a lot of not so awesome things with a few good things. We can ticket you easier, know where you are at any time, AND we can occasionally improve traffic patterns as a result.

Noam Chomsky has been known to talk about politics and I think that he should stick with Linguistics. I think as long as he is not depressing like Chomsky and says what he feels but keeps it truthful and funny... well, the world is a better place.

Can I not go anywhere without being harassed? Now my own desktop is unsafe. If it is easy to disable or uninstall them then I will not scream about it, but if they are obnoxious then I'll just pick a different flavor linux for use. It's not like there are not other options.

While it's not a terrible idea and I don't particularly mind it, considering how I share a lot of personal information on those same networks... If they are clever they might even find a common topic of interest and skip the whole bit about the weather at 20,000 feet. Why even ask me when all you really want to know is how I feel about Dostoyevsky's narrative style, or about whitespace while coding? That's all I really care about when I talk to people.

I wonder if they also considered that we are more likely to die of stroke because we sit on our butts all day long. No cancer but we get heart disease! The irony!

Now if someone could only prove it would make us live forever...

It's only a matter of time before everyone gets banned from the interwebs for 'piracy' and ISPs go out of business. Another brilliant idea. It makes me almost angry enough to move to Papau New Guinea and forget I ever knew about teh interwebs.

Well if the internet is already broken does America, the land of the 'free and brave' and all that crap, etc. etc., need to jump on the bandwagon? We are supposed to be world leaders, doing what is best for our citizens, but yet we entertain such idiocy. I don't care how the rest of the world does it, honestly. Listening to our internet engineers might be a wise idea. Oh, and if we only understood the bill as well as they do then they are still a joke as far as I'm concerned. It is their job to know the policies they enact and for us to decide if we think they should lose their jobs/lives over their decisions. That's why it's best to ask first, then create laws.

My co-worker recently looked up every politician that was running that was NOT in office and that was how he voted. If they were in office they were crap, otherwise they needed a chance. Yes, between terrible choices of qualified idiots and feeling like it won't matter anyway it makes it all seem like a waste. Technology is just the tip of the iceberg.

It seems like it's been years since this was promised. Not that I'm complaining... better late than never, but I have almost stopped using it as a result!
