Comment Skip the weather, go for gold (Score 1) 177

While it's not a terrible idea and I don't particularly mind it, considering how I share a lot of personal information on those same networks... If they are clever they might even find a common topic of interest and skip the whole bit about the weather at 20,000 feet. Why even ask me when all you really want to know is how I feel about Dostoyevsky's narrative style, or about whitespace while coding? That's all I really care about when I talk to people.

Well if the internet is already broken does America, the land of the 'free and brave' and all that crap, etc. etc., need to jump on the bandwagon? We are supposed to be world leaders, doing what is best for our citizens, but yet we entertain such idiocy. I don't care how the rest of the world does it, honestly. Listening to our internet engineers might be a wise idea. Oh, and if we only understood the bill as well as they do then they are still a joke as far as I'm concerned. It is their job to know the policies they enact and for us to decide if we think they should lose their jobs/lives over their decisions. That's why it's best to ask first, then create laws.

My co-worker recently looked up every politician that was running that was NOT in office and that was how he voted. If they were in office they were crap, otherwise they needed a chance. Yes, between terrible choices of qualified idiots and feeling like it won't matter anyway it makes it all seem like a waste. Technology is just the tip of the iceberg.

I wonder if this study takes into account the robbers increasing in efficiency and effectiveness with each successive robbery. I know they have a 1 in 5 chance of being caught, but is their 10th robbery as sloppy as the previous 9? I tend to get better at my job, but does this apply to bank robbers? This is likely assuming they don't raise the stakes with each successive robbery, which they tend to do.

Well, the answer to my own question is that she really didn't speak much at all since she's only three years old, and it seems unreasonable to place the child's entire hopes and dreams of communication in one app on a device that changes every year (not to mention apps coming and going daily). If I built my entire world around AIM then I would be crushed when everyone moved elsewhere if I didn't move with them. A more tried and true solution seems a bit more reasonable when you are talking about her future in communication. I hope they can research and arrive at a solution that will not be outdated tomorrow... That's the heart of my comment. It reminds me so much of everyone jumping on the bandwagon to convert all their music collection to the next greatest thing. There's a fine line between latest and greatest, and that which is here today and gone tomorrow. I think they gambled wrong. My original question was not very well communicated. Thanks.

If they are doing their job and following all the rules then it won't bother them that the people are recording the video. It could lead to a raise if their performance is excellent. I was thinking about something like this... people need to record every TSA worker as they try to violate our rights and our virginity when they x-ray rape us.
