Comment Good Luck I Am NOT North American! (Score 1, Insightful) 451

All I keep thinking is what's next to build fear amongst your own citizens. So now the alert will be triggered every now and them and everyone in the hole country will be afraid of dying and ask the president to invade another country. Is it so hard to see that no other country in the whole world has so many security issues? None else in earth is so afraid of bad things that may happen to them. You never wondered how come? Never thought of what is that you did to get into this situation? Just change what you are doing that provokes other to be so angry at you, and you will never need to be afraid again. But instead of that you just accept to get paranoid and keep fucking the rest of the world.

I think you where very lucky in your first job. I have had several jobs and only in one of them the manager considered that kind of tools. In the rest they always told me "Great idea, do it!"; "Thanks, then other people can now start using these tools, too. I may need a server to set it up"; "What? No, do it in you own time at home, I don't care about that stupid stuff, other people don't need that shit. Shut up and work!". That's the main reason why I keep changing jobs....

Well... my Win XP does not show that prompt. Maybe I am the exception that confirms the rule, or maybe I just don't browse the wrong web pages and I don't install the wrong software. All I know is that my WinXP do not autoupdate and I do not manually run Windows Update. I only update the antivirus and the computer is in good shape. PS: On new computers I always get an updated antivirus from a pendrive before enabling any net devices (ethernet, wireless, bluethoot, etc.)

I am mostly using standard Linux Distro, but I also have an unpatched Win XP. I have never have any issues with the XP and still runs smoothly after 6 years. Standard free AVG antivirus never detected anything and I never had any "strange" network activity. Maybe It is full of malware, but it works great, no issues at all, so I just keep it like that. In my personal experience, continuous patching is what actually hurts Win XP. Don't try this at home!
