Submission + - App Store Apps Make More Money Than Android Apps (gizmocrazed.com)

Mightee writes: "According to a recent survey, Android developers are making much less than what iOS developers are. The reason for this could be many. However, the most probable reason is piracy.

According to a report from Skyhook and the Yankee group, the sales of apps of different platforms are increasing with each day and a single consumer is buying about 40 apps every year. Nevertheless, this number does not mean that apps on iOS and Android are selling off at equal rates with Android users buying lesser apps than their competitor's users do."

Submission + - Adobe Flash Finally Comes To iPhone, iPad And iPod (gizmocrazed.com)

Mightee writes: "According to various sources Adobe has produced a new technology, which fills all needs of Apple devices and could well be incorporated and bring Flash support in their devices — without degrading the performance. Adobe announced the newest version of Adobe Flash Media Server today. It will allow developers to stream Flash content directly to a wide array of devices and enable flash content to be played on iPhones, iPads and iPod touch without installing any Add-ons.

This new technology developed by Adobe works like a HTTP stream. Instead of processing the flash file locally on the device, the files are rather rendered on a remote server and then streamed to other browsers."

Submission + - TechCrunch As We Know It May Be Over (techcrunch.com) 1

Mightee writes: "TechCrunch is on the precipice. As soon as tomorrow, Mike may be thrown out of the company he founded. Or he may not. No one knows. And if he is, he will be replaced by — well, again, no one knows. No one knows much of anything. Certainly no one at TechCrunch. This site is about to change forever and we’re in the total fucking dark. I’ve been able to piece together little bits of information here and there, and it’s not looking good. Hence, this post.

By now, if you read TechCrunch, you likely know about the nuclear situation that has exploded over the past several days. Mike unveiled an investing entity known as the “CrunchFund” with full AOL support — so much support, mind you, that they’re the largest backers of the fund — only to have his legs kicked out from under him due to what can only be described as nonsensical political infighting and really poor communication. To make matters worse, some Journalists (with a big “J” and even bigger senses of entitlement) have proceeded to pile on, despite having no real knowledge — at all — of the way TechCrunch actually works. And now here we are."

Submission + - "Twitter Terrorists" Could Get 30 Years in Prison (guardian.co.uk)

Mightee writes: "A man and a woman are facing 30-year prison terms in Mexico for allegedly using Twitter to spread panic over a series of child kidnappings.

Gilberto Martinez Vera, 48, a private school teacher, and Maria de Jesus Bravo Pagola, a radio presenter, were accused of spreading false reports that gunmen were attacking schools in the south-eastern city of Veracruz."

Mightee writes: "The EV P001 now holds the electric car lap record at Germany's Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit after it smashes the previous record by more than a minute, Toyota has announced.

Driven by Jochen Krumbach, P001 broke the existing record with a time of 7 minutes and 47.794 seconds (despite low track temperature), beating the previous record set by Peugeot EX1 EV by almost 74 seconds. The lap was completed on road-legal tires and was verified by independent lap timing."

Submission + - Why Women Get More Scared Watching Horror Movies (gizmocrazed.com) 3

Mightee writes: "Why women freak out watching a horror movie while most men don't? According to a new study, it is due to the female brain which makes them more terrified. Pity! :D

Men and women differ in the way they regard an emotional and unpleasant experience, which affects the response with which that experience is committed to memory.

Researchers from University College London found that women get more scared as they are more likely to anticipate scary scenes that lie ahead. They measured the brain activity of 3o men and women by showing them pictures such as nice landscapes(positive) and extreme violence(negative)."

Submission + - 90% Species On Earth Not Yet Discovered [STUDY] (gizmocrazed.com)

Mightee writes: "A study by science experts shows that only 10 percent of the species that live on this planet have been discovered and 90 percent of the species have yet to be discovered.

The study which was published in the open journal by the name of PLoS Biology, increases the possible amount of species that share this planet with us. The journal says that only 1.2 million species have been discovered and named so far, and more than 9 million species have yet to be discovered."

Submission + - Astronomers Discover "Diamond" Planet (gizmocrazed.com)

Mightee writes: "Boy O' Boy! Astronomers have discovered a planet orbiting around a tiny star, which seems to be made of diamond and lies 4,000 light years away from Earth.

The newly discovered planet is far more dense than any other in the universe, and contains huge carbon content which is calculated to be in crystalline(diamond) form due to planet's highly dense nature. The high density also suggests that lighter elements like helium and hydrogen are not present."

Submission + - Why QR Codes Are Here to Stay [OPINION] (mashable.com)

Mightee writes: "If you raise the subject of QR codes among tech early adopters, you are likely to elicit a passionate response. Some people think QR codes, those scanable black and white squares on everything from billboards to product packaging, are on an unstoppable growth trajectory, while skeptics are quick to dismiss them as a fad.

This reaction is common whenever new technology formats or standards are being decided upon. Pundits want to exhibit their knack for predicting the future and stakeholders (of which I am undeniably one) want to make sure their format wins out. The general public, meanwhile, tends to lay in wait for a particular format to show dominance."
