Comment No FaceTime, no LTE, and totally fugly (Score 0) 403

Sorry but It's the age of the video phone and Apple won the supremacy by integrating it into iOS.
Even my 85 year old grandmother can use it on her iPad 2 and she never touched a computer and has a hard time with non-rotary phones.

Oh, and did you see how ugly Surface is? Microsoft has never been able to put something together that can win on looks because it's always been to cautious to not shake the boat too much on appearance. Apple has had many ugly products but at least they were pushing the envelope.

And where is the LTE version of the Surface?

The vantage point of the take down using real black and white film is pretty awesome.
The fact that he was arrested over it will only benefit him.

However, if the was in some completely backwards country he could have gotten shot over it. I was talking to a journalist who saw a guy head being blown up in front of him and he was convinced that the only reason he made it alive out of that situation was because he didn't have a camera on him.

Phoenix airport (sky harbor) was one of the first to use those scanners.

I hate them because they keep making me lift my hands up while not wearing a belt and unlike the rest of this state, my pants are not securely fastened by fat ass and gut.

That said, Mesa airlines will start flying for cheap to the bay area,.... which will actually have the opposite effect.

According to wikipedia it was created because of the fear that Soviet science was ahead of American science.

Since the enemy of the US now is highly religious with low scientific potential, our bar has been dropped to very low levels. The whole scientific purpose of space exploration has now been largely reduced to commercial viability.

Comment What about our evolution creates these people? (Score 1) 1113

I wonder what evolutionary trait creates people that accept belief as truth over scientific method and proven theories.
Can it be the fact that people who didn't accept authoritarian belief ended up being stoned and burned over it?

What exactly sets the people who create these beliefs apart? Do they really believe that or do they just use it to their advantage?

Even Einstein turned into a buffoon once religion got to him. All his great theories and discoveries were done during his "atheist" phase. What genetic trait triggered his switch to belief over theory?

Comment Re:Free speech under attack. (Score 1) 138

Why do you think they had to put that in the bill of rights? Controlling speech is how people are controlled by those who want to take advantage of them.
Modern governments tell us what not to say. Churches and church-controlled governments take it a step further telling people WHAT to say.

I couldn't agree more. I'm surprised that Franklin doesn't have a bigger following on Slashdot.
Franklin not only invented a lot of stuff, but he even invented the US which allowed people like Tesla, and Einstein to reach their full potential. (not our current highly unconstitutional system run by greedy corporate executives)

Maybe most geeks don't like him because he got laid too much. When he got to Paris, French women were throwing themselves at him. Not something that happens these days in the US where women prefer serial killers, and reality show douche bags.
