I'm assuming it's already possible to make cars completely using digital logic inputs to replace mechanical functions, if you had a car like that, you could just hack a game controller into the car.

I'm not disputing that there was a significant amount of deaths, but I do take offense when people say "facts" so confidently, but can't be bothered to spend 10 seconds looking it up. The reliable sources say around 100,000 deaths. The only figures that are greater than a half million were found by surveying people on "whether they knew someone who died", while the ~100,000 death figures are based on actual records which also take into account unreported deaths.

You could say the same thing about any crime. As soon as someone is accused, the media and their masses start churning up a storm. And anyway if someone is convicted, I don't see why we bother ever letting them out of prison, since they're treated worse than second class citizens anyway.

Your situation says nothing. The study doesn't show "You have anxiety iff (for the uninitiated, read: 'if and only if') you have a large number of Facebook friends". But I guess it's been discussed a million times on slashdot about anecdotes and interpreting studies and nothings going to change.

"I was just following orders" is supposedly no excuse for committing a crime, but the people who wrote the orders are definitely not exempt either. Julian Assange, Wikileaks, et al. may be liable, that is if they actually gave the orders.

Who thinks that? Maybe they think the parts that grants rights only applies to citizens, but it specifically states limitations of the government. "No Bill of Attainder or ex post facto Law shall be passed." You can't get much clearer.
