Some geeks are not so political and would jump on being able to work with supercomputers and get paid for it.

After WWII we got a lot of Rocket Scientists. Did these ex Nazi's have a change of heart? or they were just interesting go where there was interesting work for them to do. While working for the Nazi's they probably didn't care about the politics, but they liked the work, the same when they worked for the US for the cold war.

Oh look we found this guy who was getting radicalized. We tell the FBI. Then either he gets arrested or he is monitored so heavily that he will not try anything.

The general public say, Yo NSA stop spying on people, it is not like there are a bunch of credible plots anyways.

So your stance is the same as the President's: "I know I lied. I had to, so I could be reelected. You are too stupid to make your own health decisions."

Lots of people lost the insurance that was helping them treat their preexisting conditions, like cancer. The cancer treatment was what was important to them. They needed to stay alive this year, because it won't matter if they get free Crestor for their high LDL if they're dead from bladder cancer next week. It won't matter if they have pre and post-natal coverage if they're past menopause. This is what they're being forced to pay for, because some politicians decided "one size fits all, I know better that you proles" was perfectly reasonable.

I'm going to commit a slashdot crime here, but here it goes: on my Android phone, I have installed Bing. Hold on a minute! I still use Google for searching and everything else. Google Now rocks! It's changed the way I use my phone and organize my data.

But Google Maps on Android is shit for searching. I search for a store that I know is around close somewhere, and Google maps shows me just one that's 30 miles away. Bing shows me all of them, including the one that's a mile away.
