Comment Freedoms in a virtual world? (Score 1) 549

The real question is what freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, freedom of press all mean in the virtual world. I don't agree with what was said, and I certainly don't agree with any form of censorship regarding speech. I really would like to see some of these cases make their way up to the supreme court to reaffirm some of the rights which have been diluted over the past 4-5 decades.

Comment WTF! (Score 2) 270

I swear, everybody wants a piece of the streaming pie, but, AGAIN, they have NO CLUE what consumers want (or they just don't care - in which case, fuck them all). They had a much better chance bundling under Amazon Prime, Netflix, or Hulu, and that way consumers still had a better option than premium cable.

I will NOT pay for a streaming service for every channel or studio that broadcasts 1-2 things I watch. That being said, goodbye Disney. You can join the ranks of all the other morons in media I've disowned (HBO, Showtime, CBS, etc).

Cheers.

Submission + - If Hutchins is at fault, then the NSA needs to be pulled up too (itwire.com) 1

troublemaker_23 writes: If American judicial authorities are going after British security researcher Marcus Hutchins for allegedly writing malware, then they will also have to indict people at the NSA who were responsible for creating Windows exploits that then leaked and led to massive ransomware attacks.

Submission + - SpaceX Releases Animation of Planned Falcon Heavy Launch (gizmodo.com.au)

intellitech writes: SpaceX CEO Elon Musk recently shared a new (and, really freaking cool) animation demonstrating how the company plans to launch the maiden flight of their Falcon Heavy system later this year, which will be the most powerful rocket since the Saturn V used for the moon landings during the Apollo-era.

According to Elon Musk's Instragram post, "FH is twice the thrust of the next largest rocket currently flying and ~2/3 thrust of the Saturn V moon rocket." He also reiterates that a "lot that can go wrong in the November launch."
