At least I know it won't be able to read my lips. You see, I speak American, not English.
Problem 1: Why would you use the registry to find an app path? What happened to using the system environment path which is already secured? Registry. Pshhh!
Problem 2: Auto Elevation. Microsoft introduces UAC. People get annoyed with it. Microsoft introduces Auto Elevation. Guess what, still annoying and now possible security hole.
I am fine if Windows asks me to enter a user and password to elevate. It works on my *cough* Linux desktop. Annoying? Yes. Secure? More so. But really, how often does one use admin functions?
"new ActiveXObject('Microsoft.Ancient.Bad.Idea')" I think I've seen this exploit before. SMH. It's time to kill ActiveX in the browser already.
MS Enterprise Agreement Licensing is expensive and confusing.
An EA operating system license gets you unlimited upgrade rights for $80 per year per machine. This is unrealistic for government agencies who upgrade OS maybe once every 5 years. Also unlimited upgrade rights on Office for just $300 per year, also upgraded once every maybe 2 to 5 years.
The only benefit is yearly licensing can be budgeted. Where if you upgrade every 5 years, the money will not be in your budget.
Quantum computers are built for specific workloads. Citing this as potentially the worlds fastest computer is misleading. It more than likely will not be a general purpose computer.
Vandal: I do not think that word means what you think it means. He exposed a vulnerability and reported before going public. He in no way defaced or destroyed the website or data.
It is nice and all to keep me from spending $100 every 2-3 years on a new OS. But that's not where the money is. Active Directory and Client Access Licenses are the money makers. Too much money. When ReactOS performs in the server space, then my pants will get tight over the new version.
Problem: I have a crick in my neck from craning to see a single screen of any size in conference rooms, people turning the resolution down to 800x600 to get the fonts bigger for people in the back, and the constant projector focusing.
I want a solution using cheap (~$60) personal tablets that interconnect and share a single screen from a presentation PC. Yet I cannot find this that integrates well with Windows applications. 15 Chinese androids and one presenter laptop. Why is this so hard?
No, let's build on the broken model of everyone sharing a single huge expensive device.
It's the sound of inevitability. It's coming on/before the year 3000: https://www.youtube.com/watch?...
Or just put up a sign: "Go solve your own problem, don't bother me!"
And when they make a rubbish solution, then it's your problem doubled.
Out of how many million? Raw numbers without context make for headlines in 99% of selected online publications.
The assumption in all this is that twitter is ISIS' command and control center. It's not. Any direction provided by twitter most likely requires confirmation and attendance in a training facility before deployment.
To discount an enemies intelligence is a fatal position to take.
Anonymous did the the best they could do. Embarrass them and make them look incompetent. Stone age treatment for stone age ideas.
My wife got her debt written off and we then had to claim the write off as income. So at least they will have to pay taxes on it
