An anonymous reader writes: My college started offering a degree in Game Art & Design around a year and half ago, my classmates and I are the first ones through, so we are basically the guinea pigs in their little experiment. We have recently discovered that for a scripting language, the school plans to teach ActionScript. We have already taken one programming class (logic and fundamentals) and are taking a C++ course now. The two scripting classes are a ways off, but my classmates and I are trying to pressure the school to change the language to something a bit more useful in game development. Flash games are great, but we would like something a bit more general, like Lua, Python, Ruby, etc. Sure, we have some ideas, but I figured I would ask slashdot for some help. SO the question, what language do you think we should learn, and, any tips on getting our school to listen to us? Thanks for any help you can offer.
