I just wish they would focus on security or let us know what they have done to make it more secure. I hear about API's and third party software. What types of encryption is available? What are the chips used to secure? Everyone in my office wants a iPhone but I do not feel as secure as with BES.
We just upgraded all our wireless conference room keyboards to be encrypted. Never thought that someone sitting outside our office could get every key stroke.

nk497 writes "It's no surprise that professional gamers aren't quite as fit as elite athletes, but they do have something in common. According to a British academic, top-level players show similar psychological attributes as top athletes, such as the ability to manage anxiety, and have reaction times on par with fighter pilots. Dr. Micklewright said, 'When I first got asked to do [the study], my initial reaction was "don't be ridiculous, gaming is nothing like sport." But the more I thought about it, the more similarities [became clear], and I became more and more convinced that it was close in many ways to sport.' While sitting in front of a screen might not have the same physical demands as running a marathon, neither do playing snooker or darts. Still, while gamers show good reflexes, their health was worse than expected, with one 20-something professional player showing the same aerobic health as a 60-year-old smoker." This story is based on a BBC radio report which you can currently hear, although that link seems to say that it won't last.
Trailrunner7 writes: For a minimal investment of about $160, a single porn site operator can infect more than 20,000 computers with malware for use in cybercrime, according to an academic study presented at the Workshop on the Economics of Information Security (WEIS 2010). The team, which included researchers from Secure Systems Lab, Technical University Vienna, Institute Eurecom, Sophia Antipolis and the University of California, Santa Barbara, set up their own adult content business during the course of the study and found it was relatively easy — and inexpensive — to launch malicious attacks from porn sites.
"For example, we discovered that a malicious operator could infect more than 20,000 with a minimal investment of about $160. We conclude that many participants of this industry have business models that are based on very questionable practices that could very well be abused for malicious activities and conducting cyber-crime. In fact, we found evidence that this kind of abuse is already happening in the wild," the group said.

Kilrah_il writes "An Israeli company developed a gadget that measures your blood pressure and tells you when you are stressed and need to take a break from your computer. 'The user grasps two sensors shaped like computer mouses to measure the electric activity of the heart in minute detail. Software then combines the measurements with prerecorded personal details such as age and sex to calculate various indicators for stress and mood.' Looks like a must-have accessory for Slashdotters everywhere."
