Comment My "block of wood" was books of RPG's (Score 1) 414

Your basic logic is why I believe that games of imagination... even constructed ones, like pencil-and-paper role-playing-games (more books!)... are possibly the best "toys" you can give your kid. My "block of wood" was RPG's... and I still have a fondness for them, even today. :-) Their value goes beyond just entertainment.

Comment Stevie Wonder? (Score 1) 466

"Steve. Wonder"

When I originally glanced at these words together in the OP's post, I thought it was a reference to Stevie Wonder. For a moment, I thought the OP was making a joke about how they seem to be handing these phones out to blind folk or something.

Amazon Reviewers Take on the Classics 272

Not everyone is a fan of great literature. In particular, reviewers on Amazon can be quite critical of some of the best loved classics. Jeanette DeMain takes a look at some of the most hated famous books according to some short tempered reviewers. One of my favorites is the review of Charlotte's Web which reads in part, "Absolutely pointless book to read. I felt no feelings towards any of the characters. I really didn't care that Wilbur won first prize. And how in the world does a pig and a spider become friends? It's beyond me. The back of a cereal box has more excitement than this book. I was forced to read it at least five times and have found it grueling. Even as a child I found the plot very far-fetched. It is because of this horrid book that I eat sausage every morning and tell my dad to kill every spider I see ..."

Comment Can't believe he is being serious (Score 2, Insightful) 144

I guess I could be wrong, but I have a feeling he is kinda joking around when he made the cracks about having people pay to "park in his spot." I find it hard to believe that he is being serious about having real claim to any moon property (other than the landers, themselves). Am I the only one thinking he is just goofing off with such statements?

Comment CostCo has Mexican Coke... WalMart too, I am told. (Score 1) 542

Yup, I get Mexican Coke at CostCo. :) It is in the nice green glass bottles (12 oz.) and just tastes oh so much better. I understand you can also find it at some WalMarts, but they don't carry it at my local WalMart. After having the Mexican Coke, I am spoiled forever and don't want to go near the HFCS variety again.
