That's a truly groundbreaking discovery. I mean, who could possibly expect that patent trolling may be bad practice?

If it means that your competitor is either hurting because of the money you got from them, or even better, out of business, then the companies that starting the patent dispute won.

It may of "cost them" billions, but it was probably worth it, if it means their competitor(s) aren't selling products, directing money to themselves.

Some might say it's the pirates that force Diablo 3 to be like this, and if it weren't for them, we wouldn't have had this restriction. This isn't the first game to do it, and it won't be the last.

The Sheeple as you call us, are just trying to get the game they want to play, and yes it sucks you need the internet all the time, but it's a minor nuisance to play Diablo 3 when I loved Diablo 2 so much.

I trust adobe(kindof), microsoft.com, etc, but not joe-schmo.com, see the difference?

Chrome has done a lot to remove the need for plug-ins. Not completely as Adobe won't let anyone except Adobe make a flash player, but you get the idea

I've seen pirated copies of Diablo III by razor1911 floating around. How do they work, then?

They may emulate Blizzard's servers, and then re-direct (using the hosts list, remember that?) all traffic going to blizzard to your local machine where all the stuff you need is present.

Just a theory, I don't really know, but that's how a lot of crackers do it

Some people like stability, which then I would tell them to get a LTS (Long Term Support) version of your favorite GNU/Linux OS (although not every OS has one)

Others like the support, some the easy of use, others just aren't technically inclined enough to get things to work if they don't work "out of the box" (out of the CD? no, no one gets linux on CD, so I guess: out of the download? Ah, I digress....)
