Maybe it's because I'm approaching "get off my lawn, kids" age, but isn't this whole concept of a loop tunnel infrastructure simply a fantasy of those living inside the Silicon Valley bubble? Seems like a solution looking for a problem, a huge suck of public funding for the benefit of very few people who'll use it. Crazy idea: improve, update and modernize the mass transit options available now.

To be honest, with the direction the US Gov't is going, I'd almost rather live in China right now and in the future. At least they admit they're an oligarchy to some extent and don't hide behind the bullshit "Democratic Republic" that the U.S. used to be. At least you know you're getting fucked, kinda like the courtesy of some foreplay. Oh... and the country isn't being taken over by religious zealots who value sky ghosts over science.

The answer to your first question is an obvious yes. Even in raw tax dollars coming back in from revenues generated from the LandSat program, it's paying for itself and then some... by a lot. You could easily argue that for every $1 spent on the program, $2.50 is coming back. If anything, you could argue we should spend MORE tax dollars on the program and make sure everyone knows it's free and available to use.

There's tremendous liability here. Telling people to try drug X without a medical license and the drug not coming through a properly regulated distribution channel likely leads viewers to buy it on the internet. No telling whether the drug contains what it says, perhaps just enough fentanyl to kill a rhinoceros. The danger is more in how the viewer might obtain the drug rather than the danger of the drug or advice itself. At least that's my take.

Stocks, from penny stocks all the way up to blue chips, are no different than cryptocurrency. There is value in the companies and currencies but that actual, tangible, potential liquid value is FAR less by many orders of magnitude than the market value, share value. It's all legalized, rigged gambling for the "haves" class, throwing scraps to the 401K crowd to prevent an uprising.

Our employer asks that you let them know up to 6 months in advance. Mind you, our company has a large percentage of workers over 45 and a large percentage of employees that have been here 25+ years. We have one employee in our area who will retire in exactly 1 year, 5 months and 27 days. There's zero chance they'll be dropped early and that would be the case for any employee here, barring an incident. Your mileage may vary depending on the employer...
