Journal Journal: [Stomach] Vomitfest 2007!

So yeah... My new vomiting day is now Monday. So basically I wake up at about 2AM knowing I'm going to be throwing up until about 8AM. Yeah, no I hate that too.

The order has changed though. Used to be:

Food
Acidy stuff w/ food
Foamy stuff / no food
Bile

Now it's:

Foamy Stuff w/ no food
Food
Acidy stiff w/ no food
Bile

This is especially inconvenient because I generally need to work on Monday Mornings.

The puking is also annoying because it is preceded by searing lower back pain. I'm no manlier than anyone else but I'm pretty numb to most of this pain but the timing is very off-putting. I'm hoping to have this puking moved to Friday.

Yes, I'm going back to the Drs.

I'm now a CIO and I make fuckload more money.

I'm really uncomfortable with the title. I don't think I'm a CIO. I'm not even a CTO. I only have like 11 people directly under me and I only support about 700 users (UK to CA).

I'm really a Sys Admin with a tie.

I'd be embarrassed to put CIO on my resume. I'm so not a CIO. I saw one once. He looked wealthier than me.

Journal Journal: The 9th Circuit Court Needs To Stop 1

What has the 9th Circuit Court done to forward jurisprudence exactly?

I mean why?

A federal appeals court on Tuesday vacated the sentence of "millennium bomber" Ahmed Ressam, who was arrested near the U.S.-Canadian border and convicted of plotting to bomb Los Angeles International Airport at the turn of the millennium.

I am open to hearing the good they are doing.

Journal Journal: Subaru Outback 2.5i a Few Weeks In 12

OK so it got biffed with a tiny black smudge on the rear bumper in the parking lot. The guy that hit it wanted to replace the whole bumper. I thanked him for biffing it and getting over with. Then I broke a little plastic button on the seat belt making getting the connector a major tit stain.

Nothing ever happens with this car. I mean that in a good way. Everything is even and smooth and quiet. It's weird. You turn the steering wheel and the car just goes that way. It doesn't plow, it's not ass-happy it doesn't fade. It's not ever going to be confused with any sports car but this car is solid and predictable.

It's slightly underpowered if you're a Gran Turismo driving, first car was a TR6 second was a GTi kind of driver. I think for most people it's got plenty of get up and go. I probably should have gone turbo. Next time.

The clutch pedal took a LONG time to get used to. It is a hydraulic pedal mechanism so it is very smooth and even. There are no "pivot points" like in a traditional clutch system. So you can't "feel" anything. This sucks when you are on a hill and want to "hold" the car with the clutch. I finally got used to it.

I can't stress enough how even and predictable this car is. It is truly unnerving to a driver like me. You don't drive ths car so much as suggest things to it.

There are a lot of dirt roads up here for some reason. I drive them often. Witht he whole family in the car and all of them urging me on to greater speed we got into an induced drift (grabbed the hand brake) and within seconds the wheels just found themselves and I was under four wheel power again. I pulled over and asked, "Did you feel that?"

Lynda said, "Yeah that was weird I could feel the different tires gripping."

Danny said, "My butt felt weird."

Sophie screamed, "AGAIN!"

So far so good. It's no Corolla on gas but it's a way better ride.

Journal Journal: [CT] Horrible smells outside my office... 3

OK so there was some hideous smell covering a lot of NYC today. My ass was not, this time, involved.

However, if I wanted to see how my gas attack was going to work I might drive a truck downtown unleash a harmless but smelly gas and see how far it got. Just sayin', that's what I'd do.

The thing that got me itchy was that no one seems to know what caused the stink.

Journal Journal: [Commuting] I'm very sorry ma'am your son is an idiot 9

Once again, let me reiterate:

If you are struck by a train on or near a train track you are to blame.

My condolences to all the commuters of the LIRR who got home late - I hope you dinner was not cold.

And to the LIRR if this fucking idiot's mother attempts to sue you for so much as a dime I hope you will counter sue her into oblivion.

People need to stay off of train tracks. There is no reason to be one them unless you work for the Railroad.

Journal Journal: [GH2] All Will Be Made Metal 5

On New Year's Eve I played Guitar Hero II. I was plowed and I sucked but I was really intrigued by the game. Lynda got it for me.

I just got done playing for the night. My wrist is killing me :)

It's a really smart game. It's fun. It looks easy but it ain't.

If you play guitar for real I think the game is harder. You know where you hands are supposed to go when you are playing Killing In The Name Of but they don't in the game. I actually found that if I turned the sound OFF and just follow the screen I could score in the 90%s with the sound I kept getting lost... until I played Message In A Bottle. Then I "got" it. It's not EVERY note... depending on the level it's the 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16 etc... and the chords are, well weird.

Lynda... she can play the game.

I give this game 5 out of 5.

I just watched United 93 and I want every non practicing, moderate and radical Muslim dead. All of them. All their children. Burned to death. Every single one. Exhume the dead ones and burn them too.

The editing of the movie was excellent.

I'll probably feel differently tomorrow but right now - all dead. All of them. Every single one.

I'm sure tomorrow I'll have let the non practicing Muslims off.

Journal Journal: [Books] Looking for Suggestions Again 24

Last year I asked you folks for book suggestions and I read some great stuff... and that really horrible Wasp Factory! :)

So, what do you got for me this year?

Been thinking about CS Lewis becuase it seems like I should know these books. The KGB book looks good and I Will Fight No More Forever... then too I have been wanting to read The Afghan Campaign because I liked Gates Of Fire so much... but I had just read The Kite Runner and The Places In Between and I was kind of Afgahnistaned out.

I think I maybe don't read that much fanasy scifi, but I really liked the Illuminatus Trio thingy and I thought Cryptonomicon was really good... Ender's Game and all the ones that went with it... I really liked the books on the 20s - oh and that Strange & Norell thing was fun... If you can jam a Templar or a Mason in the book I'm in...

So Jack got skunked... we washed him a lot. So much we washed his tick medicine off.

Lynda can spot a tick from 50 paces. She's the Tick Master. So Jack had 3 ticks on them. I don't know what a tick looks like but when Lynda hands me the Mason Jar and the paper towels I set them on fire and dump the charred remains in the run off!

So then we check Sophie and Danny since they hang out with Jack the most - CLEAN!
