In my case, I am a contractor ready to bail because my government sponsor, who is in a big role in a branch of military cybersecurity, is not motivated nor interested in anything that might take effort. Gotta protect his funding line and rice bowl.......

The lack of leadership combined with the bureaucracy has made me lose any faith that things will improve. I work with some people every now and then that are awesome, dedicated and motivated, but like me, they get tired of 'the fight' and take a job outside of the .gov space, getting paid and with about 30% of the responsibility.

Terms of Service (TOS) and people agreeing to give all their info up is going to do us in, as someone mentioned above about Orwell envisioned government oppression doing it, but it is actually people *giving up freedom* that is a much more devious thing. Gradual and it feels good to have all this convenience and security...... a warm blanket that someday may smother you......

We tossed this idea around in the office before. Stuck in traffic but can't see ahead? Launch the tethered drone - just straight up and high enough to see what is ahead. Power is no problem as it is tethered, and you can get high quality video. With the right design, maybe handle speeds of > 5mph as it goes into 'kite mode'.

Just an idea. :-)

Side question - I have opted out since Day 1. 98% of the time when I opt out, they take me through a little side gate and I skip the scanner AND the metal detector. Have you had the same experience? I am OK with the metal detector but have not had to do it since the opt out for scanner option is there.

Sorry I have no answers for your questions, but also interested in the replies you get here.

Thanks

Amen. Watch 'Deep Web' and you will find the truth. The truth is, the government's case would have fallen apart if the defense was allowed to question witnesses, including experts, but alas, that was not going to happen.

Reasonable doubt is there in my mind. Look beyond the hype and actually how the case was handled. Scary stuff.
