Personally I think the idea of a universal language that is consistent, easy for the majority of people to pronounce, and does not have irregular forms of words is a great idea.
The idea that this universal language should be one created solely by a 19th century Polish opthalmologist, rather than a global team of professional linguistics experts, is a terrible idea.
