Comment Bye Microsoft. Nobody will miss you. (Score 1, Informative) 45

Microsoft is the leading cause of malware. By refusing to fix anything from longstanding issues to zero-day issues, they've ensured that their latest software is still backward compatible with Windows 3.1 (aka WFW and also a precursor to W95) and fully compatible with malware that uses these features.

Oh, so now they're not going to be on Android? Well the five users who've tried it are surely going to be disappointed.

Here is my outlook with a 360 degree view: Failure.

I apologize, as this chat is random and we don't have access to connect a chat to anyone.

I've also sent an email query from that same link. It opened a case, and I'm not hopeful
for much of a response.

Fundamentally any of us who own Roku devices paid for them to have the functionality
as was represented by Roku at the time of purchase. Disabling that functionality after
purchase to create a "need" to accept new T&Cs is likely unlawful and at the very least
worthy of civil penalties to START AT the full retail value of the Roku devices at time of
purchase plus replacement costs with equivalent hardware.

I am not a lawyer. I will not be agreeing to their new T&Cs on principle alone.

Comment Canada Sucks! (Score 0) 36

...we have way better privacy laws than down in the USA.

If your claim to fame is that Canada has better privacy laws than the US, you might
want to just go for a trifecta and list a few more things.

Canada has a prime minister that gets things done, and a senate and house of commons
that aren't dominated by backwards hicks trying to establish a theocracy.

Canada has a cleaner environment, more world-aware people who actually read, listen to,
and view news as opposed to something something The Voice or something something
Got Talent.

On the other hand, Canada has required registration of firearms, draconian border rules about
vehicle homologation prior to import, and stuck up Quebecois. Unlike the US, though, Canada
could allow them to secede, but they can't seem to get a majority. In the US even if they got a
majority someone would say it's unconstitutional, some orange guy would try to subvert the vote,
and the rest of us would be stuck with the "confederacy of hicks, inbreds, and religious zealots."

I love being a US citizen. I enjoy visiting Canada. Despite being close enough to touch and
sharing a common language (except the aforementioned Quebecois) both are very different
countries. But hey, we may soon have an Orange King, and you guys already have a king, and
you might get a disfunctional unable-to-do-union-jack-shit government like we already have.

Finally, I'll share a secret with our northern buddies. USA. Number One. USA Number One.

This isn't a problem with "foreign" press. It's not a problem with Iran or North Korea or China. It's

If you're thinking "no, it can't be that bad", the Alabama Supreme Court just declared what God
