Basically you need to fuse the GPU and the monitor. The VRAM needs to have 2 buses - one for R/W to the GPU (as is now) and one read only (but possibly much faster) going to the panel. So the GPU just renders and puts pixels in the VRAM and the "panel" reads them whenever and changes the corresponding pixel(s). The key difference is that this type of access doesn't have to be sequential - it can be RANDOM as in "Random Access Memory" OR even if it is sequential it will be WAY faster than the pixels of the panel.
And then there is the risk that after someone takes the risk to implement this, the end result looks like shit simply because of how human perception works... who knows.

I am sure the device has unique ID that can survive a reset. Make it so that it reports location, but refuses to connect to icloud for regular services, unless the original owner lifts the ban. This would make the device practically useless if stolen.
With what they plan to do, some people are going to loose fingers.

They might have been 100% right in firing him, but if they don't communicate the reasons behind that properly, it was guaranteed to fail. You don't fire such people on a whim and without proper justification.

I've always wondered how does one become a board member in a company ?!
I guess they are voted in by all investors, but how/who selects/nominate them in the first place ?
Do board members get a compensation?
Are there any "conflict of interest" rules for them - like "can't have stocks in the company they govern"?!
Seems like in this case there is a huge disconnect between the board and the CEO. If both are elected by the investors it is a bit strange to get such disparity between them. Maybe the fissure developed over time?

The "crap they wrote" is whatever was demanded of them. I bet there are hundreds or thousand good stories/scripts that gather dust in producer's drawers because they are deemed too risky for the bottom line.
You can see the patterns within each major studio:
  • Disney mostly makes super hero crap and woke-fied live action rehashes of old animated films
  • Netflix produces mostly woke crap. If they manage to make a good show, they cancel (or loose it) after a single season.
  • HBO went to shit around Season 6/7 of Game of Thrones and has come back since then. They had a good thing with Westworld, but massacred it after Season 2.

As weird as it sounds, lately I enjoyed a lot of Apple's shows - The Foundation, Ted Lasso, Severance,...

The main issue is not regulations. The main issue is that housing was turned into investment vehicle.
Companies and rich people grab land and house units, strangling the market. It doesn't matter how much is built, if it ends up in the hands of "investors" who are ready to sit on them instead of letting them at reasonable price.
Residential buildings should be owned by people who intend to live there.
The fix is simple, but unlikely to happen soon.
1. Ban companies from owning homes
2. Increase property taxes for anything but your main/first house/apartment. Maybe also give a tax break, if the property was let under a long term lease.
3. Forbid foreigners without permanent residency to acquire residential properties.
This will correct the prices and make housing affordable. Nothing else would.
These measures (or at least some of them) are working in some EU countries (like Denmark) and housing there is relatively affordable. In Denmark, if you don't live in your home for more than 6 months, you get a nice letter from the tax authorities that your tax is going to the moon.
In my country, on the other hand, we have the same problem as in the US and the result is - impossible prices (far outpacing the median income) and 40% of residential properties sit empty (not for sale and not for lease).
