I was watching a review of a brand new Model S Plaid and the paint was mismatched and the door handles didn't work consistently and that's just... what you expect with a Tesla.

Here's a suck I personally hit, as an example: I installed it from an iso image, it worked and went 'oh hey there are driver updates' so I let them install, and then my ethernet no longer worked. So that was fun.

One I'm dealing with currently is grub is absolutely refusing to see my Windows drive on a multi-disk machine, so I can't add 'boot windows' to the menu. I have to hit f12 and pick a drive to boot from.

Every computer sucks. The trick is to find the one whose suckiness irritates you the least.

All computers and OSes suck. They just suck in different ways.

I use AmigaOS 4 for things because it's fun to screw around with. And easy to fix when I break something.

This is a replacement for the A1200 board and does offer advantages over the original, but as far as I can tell it's still using Kickstart 3.1 with a 680x0 CPU and so it won't run AmigaOS 4.

And Adium is also more or less abandoned. It still technically works, but it lacks support for modern IMs, and most of the current Pidgin plugins don't work in Adium.

And unfortunately since Adium exists, there's no port of mainline Pidgin for macOS.

Teslas are freaking expensive, that's how other car companies can sell a car.

Tesla is also misleading as hell in their pricing.

The website lists the Model 3 as $33,690*

The * is 'after calculating gas savings of $4300'. So it's $37,990 to buy it. They don't say how many years that gas savings is calculated over.

And that giant-screen interior is just fugly. I hate center-gauge-cluster cars, and replacing them with what looks for all the world like an iMac glued to the dash is not an improvement.

The cheapest non-Tesla new car I can find right now is $12000. Yeah, it's a stripped-down econobox with little to no creature comforts r advanced features. But if I just needed a car to go to work in, that would be a LOT more attractive than a Tesla.

I recently bought a new car. It wasn't a Tesla. It was about $25K, has a reasonable loadout of modern safety tech, and is comfortable. And I don't have to worry about where to charge it, since I don't have a garage.

I mean, the Spot robot only has one gripper. The strength appears to be reasonable, but how is it going to hold up AND spank the baby?

It's a low-field MRI. You don't need to clear metal out of the area.

It's also small, and can basically only be used for imaging the head, but this could be really great for stroke treatment.

For playing young roles believably, it helped that he was quite short - five foot nothing, apparently.

Except that the price of automation is continually dropping, so those jobs were going to be lost to automation eventually anyway.
