In my armchair opinion, it seems like when you make something scarse and hard to get, people want it more (especially with the wealthy looking for status symbols). This might be good for Tesla sales.

The bottleneck is at the point of where you make your first connection to the online service. Everyone is required to do a set of tutorial missions before joining the real servers.

They have it setup like an mmo where the missions are instances. Once you FINALLY get past the tutorial there are almost no problems. In fact, the lobbies I played in where not even full.

That first tutorial instance is the problem.

The excitement around facebook and mobile gaming is starting to drain on people. The smart phone revolution is over. People have gotten used to the new shiny and are starting to go back to their former entertainment.

When my mom says she is tired of the farm games and tired of facebook (of which only a year ago she would never spend more than a few minutes away from), thats when I know they are on a downhill slide. ....probably to a stable point, but definately not the peak they saw when it was all new tech to the 'non nerds'.

I love your USA centric thinking. I am an avid user of both Udacity and Coursera. I would take a guess that easily 90% of people using these sites are not U.S. citizens.

That number is more troubling to me than any pass/fail rates. There doesn't seem to be a love of learning in USA.

I admit that the emails he sent were pretty funny, but, the people asking for help weren't the ones not fixing the email address screwup. He could have easily had a stock response set up to respond to each of these describing Zynga's mistake and unwillingness to fix it.

I could see people not familiar with technology, e.g. my mom, who would think that clicking slowly 5 times was a real thing. That is a gross exageration but is an anaolgy to the point of the article. Without proper protections, all the information, notes, white papers, studies, etc will be useless if there doesn't exist technology that can read it.

In a worst case scenario how would humankind rebuild and not forget what was previously learned (e.g. dark ages we already experienced).
