Comment Re:When Egypt or Libya does it, it's bad, of cours (Score 2) 513

Maybe you "dunno" but eight years of Bush pretty much drove the point home that Repubs are statists--in the name of freedom, of course. There's really no need to pretend that we don't know that a Republican administration would have achieved more erasure of civil liberties as they relate to telecom. Repubs are against gov't unless it is trying to involve itself in your pants or ensure your false sense of security through authoritarianism. That said, no one should be surprised by this executive order. Gov't seeks to control. President Romney, should that fuckwit win in 2012, won't rescind this order, will pile onto it, and will eagerly sign any new, over-the-top PATRIOT Act additions (for Jesus, the children, or whatever). The president after that, no matter which party, will do the same.

Exactly. But get rid of the reportER as well as the reportEE. Just link RC aircraft with the word terrorism (again), and Congress will pass a law limiting the hobby. Then get rid of the EPA and TCEQ for killing jobs or similar nonsense. The whole charade should play well in TX.

We cannot afford any of this. By 2025 the middle class will have been finished off, and thus the tax base will have been erased, and we will have openly accepted our Third World status. The first words spoken on Mars will have to be translated into English for us as we shiver in our boxes amidst burning trash in America's favelas.

The FAA battle is about union busting, a mainstay of your Teabagger buddies. I guess expecting public employees to work for free is the logical next step in the minds of Teabaggers.

If every FAA employee not getting paid would cease reporting to work and seek other employment, the matter would be resolved much faster.

There will never be a "tipping point" in the lay-down-and-take-it nation. The pornoscanning and groping of children by $12/hr public employees is here to stay. The gov't has already made its own case for doing so by invoking "terrorism." "Terrorism" as a means of control still really resonates with the Fox News/Teabag/security-statist ignoranti who otherwise claim to hate the the gov't.
