Well, the former chancellor Gerhard Schröder who supported the Nord Stream 1 pipeline and signed the deal days before leaving office (after having already been voted out) and a few weeks later took lead of the pipeline's shareholder committee. He may not have directly pushed for gas plants but he pushed to get Russian gas into Germany though.

This has already started, with Russia's forced military service, many bright young men are immigrating to other countries to work and study in order to avoid having to join the military. Hiring Russians has become more complicated and time consuming of late however due to the sanctions, some relaxing of the rules should indeed be made.

Stop if with the "just do it yourself" bullcrap. Yes, individuals can and should be better, but even if we all were (and we're nowhere near that) it still wouldn't be enough. When 70% of the world's greenhouse gas is produced by 10-12 companies, you eating less meat and turning off your lights isn't going to make a dent. You've drunk the Kool-Aid that big industry has been serving, they've been saying (and financing) that it's up to us, the lowly public that need to change so that they don't need to.

We don't need government to control everything, we need them to pass laws to force companies to change. If countries were to pass laws banning single-use plastics then companies would be forced to find and fund alternatives (plant-based biodegradable plastics for instance).Laws forcing carbon neutrality would also go a long way.

Yes, we can all do more, but it's time that companies did their fair share as well.

For those who don't know, the Heartland Institute is an American conservative and libertarian public policy think tank known for its rejection of both the scientific consensus on climate change and the negative health impacts of smoking.

The big problem is that many people don't realize that they are brainwashed. Then these same people are often quick to shut down at the mere suggestion that their beliefs do not reflect reality. Ex: America is the best country in the World. It's nowhere near the worst, but definitely not the best by any meaningful measure: health, wealth distribution, education, democracy, human rights, etc.

It's not so much burn IN as it is burn OUT. Each pixel is formed out of 3 LEDs of different colors, a static image means that one of more of those LEDs will be very bright for a very long time. With extensive usage, the red or green LED might not be as bright as they used to so the image appears bluer than usual since the blue ones remain at full brightness.
