In other news, Miguel de Icaza said that he believes botnet support is a good idea. Linux should support malware because Microsoft is going to win anyway, so linux would better be prepared if it doesn't want to be locked out of the future markets, and presented a beta version of the software. Members of the Mono project are participating in the standarization.

A lot of things are illegal only if you're a monopoply. For example the only reason Apple gets away with bundling, FUD, price jacking etc is because they don't have the market distorting power that MS does. Distorting the market is what is illegal -- using a monopoly in one area to kill competition in another area. Apple won't get an automatic monopoly in browsers by bundling.

It's amazing how close that is to my setup. I just wanted to add a small bit: it's better to use mouse scroll instead of click on the left/right of the screen. That way both edges can go either way.

Digital books can't be defaced. The reason it's a requirement is it's one of the best ways to fix it in memory. It's hard to explain, but ebooks don't allow you to get a feel for a book. When searching through a real book, you easily flip through it knowing the section you want is a few pages from this image, about halfway down this page. Lacking this, markup becomes the best option.

Temperature is the wrong problem to focus on. Liquid nitrogen is relatively inexpensive & easily handled. With a good insulation system, it costs very little to keep it liquid. The real problem is that despite lots of industry & government involvement, high temp superconductors are still expensive to manufacture & not easily turned into wires.
