Quality control - I do buy music but I easily download 10-20 times as much as I buy, but a lot of times I'll only listen to a few songs from an album and then never listen to it again.
Let's see... Television is packaged the same way by cable and others, do you steal what you want from them too?
"Party music" - I'm not going to buy hundreds of CDs just so people can find the music they want to listen to at a party, most of the time they'll have it on their own mp3 players but I'd rather not let random people connect devices to my computers.
I'm not going to buy a car just to drive to the burbs one time, I'll just steal one anduse it this one time. Second point is pure bullshit. Any player has a headphone jack and any computer or stero has an input.
Release delays - For some reason both movies and TV shows tend to show up here later than in the US and why should I have to wait weeks or months for the next episode of a TV show when I don't want subtitles anyway?
Why don't you just sit on the set and tape it there?
No legal alternative - Good luck downloading TV shows from the swedish iTunes store, can't be done.
There's no legal alternatives to shutting up my mother in law, so I'll kill her. That'll be OK, right?
Quality - If I download an illegal copy of a movie or TV show it tends to be in h.264, 720p or 1080p and without DRM, I can copy it to any device I want.
RIght, so if I steal it, I can make illegal copies, but if I get it legally I can't. That's a strong argument.
Cost - This especially applies to older media, why should I pay "new" prices for something that's more than 20 years old? It's most likely been pure profit for the last 18 of those 20 years yet I'm expected to pay the same amount of money for a season of MASH as I would for a season of BSG, no scratch that, pay twice the cost of a BSG season for a season of MASH.
Um, because that's the price for it? If you think it's too expensive then don't buy it. It's a pretty simple system. If other people think it's too expensive and don't buy it and the seller wants to sell it, the price will come down. If others are will to pay for it, too bad. That's how free enterprise works. All of your points amount to, "I want it, I don't want to pay for it, so I steal it."
