LOL, when has RMS *ever* been 'polite'?

Love him or hate him, RMS says exactly what he believes, always, and he applies his beliefs with *brutal* consistency (and I admire that last bit even when I don't agree with him).

No, RMS could never 'come to power' simply because he doesn't know how to lie like a politician.

Except just mentioning that you ran linux on top of vmware (which is what started this all off) isn't promoting a product. Maybe is he said something like "I ran linux on vmware which is the superior choice, much better then anything at the moment". Yeah, maybe then you'd have a point.

Problem is Stallman is suggesting (or telling for that matter) on the mailing list that they should censor posts for simply MENTIONING the name. That's completely stupid.

The Gnome and Ubuntu planets are not about anti-proprietary software. If you want to read blog posts about anti-proprietary software then you and Stallman should go read the "bad vista" blog. Not attempt to censor blog posts because they don't agree to your way of thinking.

One likes to think the best of people. So even though the UN is as transparent as a block of cement and has programs rife with corruption, one would like to think that this time, with the IPCC, science and the pursuit of truth reign. So now that the fraud is unravelling, I am disappointed but not surprised.

If you plot the number of sexual partners, you'll find men have a curve that rises, peaks at around four (if I remember right), and then descends... a smaller number have had 8 partners, a still smaller 12, etc. It's a pretty normal distribution.

The chart for females is shaped differently. It has a larger peak at a lower number than men (say, three), descends rapidly... but then flattens. When you get up to HIGH numbers of sexual partners (15, 20, 30), there are more females at that level than males.

In other words, most women have fewer partners than men; but a small number of women have FAR more partners than most men.

Artifex is the name of the company that owns Ghostscript, which is a Postscript interperter. Artifex offers Ghostscript under the GPL and a proprietary commercial license.

However, this lawsuit has nothing to do with Ghostscript, but muPDF, which is a PDF library written by Artifex, also offered under the GPL and a proprietary commercial license. Apparently, Palm has not purchased a commercial license to use muPDF, which means they need to abide by the terms of the GPL. However, they haven't provided the source to their PDF viewer app; all they've done is provide the source to the version of muPDF that they're using in their app, but that's not enough--muPDF is GPLed, not LGPLed.
