try this http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange_search
enter your postcode and then select your exchange. it will tell you what equipments your exchange has, what LLU ISPs are availabe and when FTTC/fibre will be available bud. great site.

The Welsh Assembly is aiming for more political power, and it wants its own comms network, that can't be "controlled" from London (ie The English). Just another example of Welsh Nationalism/xenophobia.

wow.... way to try to turn it into something it's not.
you do realise the there is a coalition in power in the Welsh Assembly don't you?
Plaid Cymru(nationalist) and Labour(Westminster based Party) so your point is moot and just shows your OWN political leaning.
just because something is positive for the Welsh and originates from the Welsh Assembly doesn't mean it's anti-English or negative
and no i am NOT Welsh, i am Scottish but we get the same crap when our Parliament does it's job in looking after the people here.
if you don't like it.... do what we did, campaign for your own devolved parliament and stop whining about how successfully the devolved parliaments are doing their job for their electorate

Wait, it was? I guess I misread the article, because I didn't realize it was about rooting your Android phone so you could actually us ICS, or for that matter, just remove the vendor applied spyware.

really? vendor applied spyware? .......
well i got an HTC android device from vodafone uk... and guess what apple fanboi ac??.... no crapware... spyware or any such shit on it.also i don't need to get it unlocked as it's not locked to the vodafone network as my last trip to Denver from the UK showed when i slipped a US SIM into it...... no unlock code needed at all.....

i can also install whatever the fuck i want on my phone from where-ever the fuck i want

By selling her pineapples
, Ecerina can afford to buy food as well as school materials for her grandchildrenl. Her grandchildren are now healthier and happier.

while you are correct in saying that they might be able to stop you taking a pic there's no chance that a security muppet from a private firm has any rights to confiscate your property.. in Scotland that would theft along with "wilful deprivation of property"
Also doing so i Glasgow would be a bold move..lol the Weedgies would have yer eye out for less! i asked a mate of mine who is a Lothian and Borders(Edinburgh area) police officer and he said and i quote "that's a load of balls bud, they can't really stop you and definitely cannot take your kit, the force of law is not on their side" he then told me what the security dude could be charged with for taking your kit. Also under certain circumstances if the security "man-handle" you they can be done for assault as well!

MS wants to present Win8 as a "secure" platform and UEFI in their minds is one piece of the puzzle. That's open to interpretation.

The options are: a) disable UEFI in BIOS b) don't purchase a system that UEFI implemented that cannot be disabled c) urge your Linux-vendor (e.g. RH) to get on the UEFI bandwagon if you're so inclined

ummmmm UEFI is REPLACING BIOS
so perhaps you mean entering the UEFI and switching off the secure boot option?????????
mind you that's IF the OEM gives you that option in the UEFI
i always build my own so won't have this problem and indeed in my new sandybridge Asus P8Z68-V PRO Z68 mobo i do have that option.. all good
i even tried it with windows 8 legitimately downloaded from HERE
and i have to say that windows 8 sucks major dick and i'll just leave the gaming with windows 7 thanks very much
so it boils down to ... build your own and keep control of running whatever you want on your machine ....or buying OEM and running what they let you ... unless you are lucky enough to be able to have the ability to turn off secure boot...... those are the APPARENT choices at the moment
