Mounting on an AM tower requires decoupling the antenna and transmission line from the AM antenna. The antenna resistance of the tower would have to be remeasured to show this had been accomplished. This would be particularly difficult on a directional station. Perhaps the FCC would relax rules on non directional AM's to reduce these requirements since AM station contours are not so critical any more.

I guess the government pressured Verizon and AT&T to drop plans for selling this phone. Our loss. Maybe Apple and Foxcon are responsible. I realize AT&T is hoping for the approval of the merger. Now I guess I should not renew my Kaspersky antivirus and throw away all cellphones except for my Samsung (which may be made in China too).

Submission + - Is Comcast lowering your speed tier without your knowledge

An anonymous reader writes: I have caught Comcast lowering my internet speed from 300 mb plan I pay for to 150 mb twice. When I call their outsourced tech support they insist they need to send a tech out and probably replace my modem (which I own). I explain the nothing has changed the modem webpage shows excellent signals and s/n ratios and threaten to change to a lower tier plan (since I am not getting what I am paying for), they put me on hold for a couple of minutes and return and tell me to run a speed test. At that point is is corrected. This has happened twice. I think there must be an intentional scam to try and get a tech out to sell you an upgrade or have you use their equipment.
Has anyone else experienced this? You should regularly check your speed. What can we do?

Submission + - Should I replace Kaspersky? (theguardian.com) 1

freddieb writes: I am confused. I have used Kaspersky for years. It is very effective and non-intrusive.
There are numerous sources suggesting replacement of this product in the US is in order.

These ads are ridiculous. Most of the products don't even give you an idea what they are for. Your doctor will not be interested in prescribing anything you see in an advertisement anyway. They must be a product of the lobby groups that influence Congress. They are almost as repulsive as lawyer advertisements.
